i removed the strand of hair that went across her face and covered her with the comforter.
the night got colder, so i decided to take her to bed. she fell asleep from crying too hard, her head above my shoulder.
her face looked so peaceful now that she's sleeping soundly. unlike earlier, when it screamed pain and sadness. when she trembled from all the things that has been locking her in the dark.
i noticed that her hand was clutching something on her neck. i carefully removed her hand from it and it revealed her moon necklace.
a corner of my lips quickly rose as i remembered her words earlier.
' which means moon in australian. '
that was why she had this necklace. why she always liked staring at the moon. why she always feel sad during nightfall. it was because it reminded her of him.
he was her moon.
" did you love him as much as he did to you? " i whispered, completely dazed while i stared to her sleeping face.
my eyes were filled with tears.
" it wasn't your fault, shine. it was never yours. " i ran my hand across her head multiple times before i decided to go home.
as i stood, i was stopped when her hand gripped my hand. i turned and i saw her eyes half opened, head a little up.
" i realized i loved him when he was gone. " she said, her voice groggy. her eyes closed in a snap, and she turned herself in a much more comfortable position.
i smiled.
i can never beat someone she loves.
