MARGARITA’S POV

“I need you to help me with my plan”, bigkas ko sa harap ni Charles. Actually, bukas na ang flight ko papuntang States. Nacontant ko na rin si Mr, Mercado regarding the scholarship and everything’s ready. Tita Charlota said her fairwells to me yesterday.

Also, sinabi niya rin sa akin na may favor sana siya pagbalik ko, which I gladly accepted despite the fact na hindi ko alam kung ano yun. So here I am, on a hotel near NAIA, all clothes packed up and talking to Charles on the phone.

“What kind of plan?” I can hear the tease and huskiness on his voice. Luckily, we’re in good terms right now which means… more help.

“Uhm… I need you to make my ‘besties’ suffer. Financially and emotionally” sabi ko ng diretso. It took minutes before he spoke.

”What kind of specific sentence ang gusto mong ibigay sa kanila?” tanong niya.

Napaisip ako. How about threatening their lives? Or bullying them? Too easy.

“Aha! Alam ko na. Make them fall in love with someone they can’t have” sabi ko. In that way, once they broke up… they will feel emotions that will slowly but surely crush their dignities and happiness into pieces.

“Alright. Ako na bahala sa financial sentence. Ingat” with those words, he ended the call. Charles really is someone mysterious He’s unpredictable and stuff.
Noong una, he’s sarcastic and isolated. On our second encounter, he’s funny and caring. While this? He’s quite scary. Good thing hindi ko tinuloy yung pag-away sa kaniya or else baka nasa libingan na ako ngayon.

Putting all thoughts aside, I did my night routine, prayed for guidance and slept.

Kinaumagahan, maaga akong pumunta sa airport kasama ang mga bagahe. Mabuti nalang the airport is just a few walks away kaya it took me only five minutes sa cab. It was still dark at city lights lang ang nagpapaliwanag sa daan.

I went outstide the cab as manong driver picked up my baggage. I put out my phone and took a snap of the airport. Tinanong ko si manong driver if he can help me bring my things inside. While walking, I opened my IG account, select the best snap that I have and posted it with the caption, ‘freedom’.

Napatawa ako ng mapakla. “Pretty sure that my post will be viral again”, sabi ko sa sarili ko.

“Ma’am hanggang dito nalang po ako” Binaling ko ang atensiyon ko kay manong driver.

“Ahh, thank you po kuya” ngumiti ako. “By the way kuya, how much po ba ang average suweldo niyo para sa isang araw?” tanong ko.

Biglang nagtaka ang mukha ni manong driver. “Ay m-maam” umiling siya. “huwag na po”.

I flashed my sincerest smile at him and gave her 6 one thousand bills. “Thank you kuya kasi you did’nt take advantage of my stupidity. You did’nt even took my things even though nakababad ako sa cellphone ko”. Inabot ko kay manong driver and pera. “Use this money wisely” sabi ko.

Hinawakan ko na ang maleta at umalis. I took a seat and looked upon kung ilang munites pa before my flight. Gosh! 30 minutes pa ang kailangan kong hintayin. Nilabas ko ang phone and checked upon my IG post. Just like what I guessed earlier, it became a hot topic for Buenavistanians.

In the span of 15 minutes, it gained one thousands hearts and different comments. Almost all of the comments pertains to one thing; which is confusion. Comments like, Are you leaving SBIS? And stuff.

I really liked SBIS. With the supremacy, power, fame, fear and respect I gained there, maybe I can stay. But things turn out different. Dad happened. My friends happened. Siguro kung hindi nangyari lahat ng iyon, maybe I’ll stay and treat everyone better.
