"Eren NO!"

Eren could smell the frustration on Levi, the fear on Jean, the confusion on Hanji. He didn't care. He felt the blood pulsing through his veins; he could do this on his own, just like he always has. He was born a monster, killing things on his own. He could fight a monster. An eye for an eye.

Marco turned his head away from the lake and the body he was dragging. Another child. The freckled and bloody man dropped the lifeless child back into the lake, and turned to completely face Eren's wolf form. He kept his gaze on Eren, letting out a slow, deep growl from his throat.

Eren leapt forward, his back claws digging deep into the the ground for a stronger push off. He felt the wind weaving through his fur as he made his way through the air, but his moment of impulse was quickly stopped with the feeling of a sharp hand gripping the loose skin on his neck. Eren growled and snapped at the arm holding him back, only to realise it was Levi's. It didn't feel like the touch his was used to.

Then, he noticed how Levi's hair seemed longer. His eyes seemed darker, his nails felt sharp. He had to half turn in order to stop him. Eren tried to wiggle free from his grip. This short moment of hesitation gave Marco enough time to completely morph into his wolf form.

Eren glared at Levi, blaming him for giving Marco this advantage. Levi sunk his claws deeper into Eren's skin, making him wince. Levi looked over his shoulder and nodded to Hanji. She was wide eyed, but she managed to give a soft nod in return before making a break towards the thicker part of the forest them.

Marco made a lung in Hanji's direction but Levi was able to kick him before he reached her, leaving the freckled wolf tumbling along the wet, blood soaked forest floor. Levi quickly turned to Eren, "Inevitably, he has eaten parts of human flesh while he was preparing all this. He is much stronger than you and I. Work with me, not next to me". He let go of Eren's neck, and kept his eye on Marco, who had started to get up and regain his balance.

Marco faced the pair, baring his fangs, raising the hair on his back. Eren looked him in the eye. Eren was certainly a much larger wolf, and was stronger in hand to hand combat, but the tables were turned today. The red staining around Marco's mouth showed Eren that this fight would not be like the last one. His focus was completely on Marco, and he couldn't control his anger and itch for battle. He silently apologised to Levi.

Eren made the first move towards Marco, pouncing onto him head on. The two wolves rolled together, and Marco ended up on top. The smaller wolf leaned forward to bite Eren's jugular, but was met with a deep cut to his cheek from a blade held by Levi. When Marco looked up, his face looked like half of it had fallen off from how mangled it was. Levi instantly made another swipe towards Marco, but this time his blade was met with his bite. The sword was made with reinforced steel, but Marco shattered the steel as if it was made from glass.

Levi dropped the handle and reached for his second sword, but Marco was quicker. Levi felt pain shoot throughout his side. He looked down, jaws clamped around his stomach and chest. He looked up. The sky shined brightly through the thick branches. He felt the ground meet his back. he felt the warm blood pool and seep through his gear. Even with the layers of protection, Marco had become powerful enough to pierce material made for bullets.

Marco released his grip on Levi's torso and took a few steps back to prepare for Eren's barrage, bits of the man's flesh dripping out of his mouth. But the attack never came. Instead, Eren yelped at the sight of Levi, and sprinted to be beside him. His head felt fuzzy. He gave a warning growl to Marco. He didn't want to fight anymore, he knew he would lose on his own. Strangely, Marco cooperated.

Eren stood over Levi. His eyes were shut, furrowed in pain. He felt his thinking become clearer, and trailed his claws over Levi's wounds as both of their hands morphed to become more and more human-like. The would was deep; bits of flesh came off with Marco's jaws. He didn't know what to do. His only release from the moon was slowly dying in his arms. It wasn't meant to end this way. It was his fault. He acted on his own and the consequences bit back. It was his fault.

*Bang!*

A gunshot rang in his ears.
