a past to forget (hippies and area 77 crew) [short story] {part 8}

-Scar PoV-
     As I open my eyes, the graceful light of the moon greeted my eyesight. I then realize, we're in somekind of Laboratory,

     "I don't like this place," Doc said, hugging himself, while shivering in fear. It is so rare to see Doc scared, so this was a new thing to me.

     "Teach! You promise not to harm my hamster!" A voice hearded, it is yelling at someone, that they assume was the voice's teacher, "Why would you that to Amy?! That is so unhuman!" The voice yelled again,

-3rd person PoV-
     The group peeked inside a room with a door open. And see a grey haired child arguing with a man with his body builded,

     "It is for experiment, Cub! We could save many people's live! We could be rich! And we could buy you a new hamster if that happend! So stop complaining!" The man said, to the kid, who was Cub,

     "But that doesn't mean you have to turn her into a monster! You injected her with the serum! You promise to never use that serum!" Little Cub yelled, tears streaming down his face, "I thought we made a deal...." he said, and sobbing a bit,

     "Cub, stop acting like that. This expariment is to dangerous to be tested on you. You are my precious lab rat, and I won't want you gone just yet," the man said,

     "You promised that if I be your lab rat, you won't harm any more living creatures! You've sworn to me!" Little Cub yelled again, "You promise......" he said, sobbing. He then ran outside, with tears streaming down, and breathing uncontrolled,

     The group once again blinded by the sudden white light. Theye then reappears in the same spot, but instead of a kid Cub, they meet a teenager Cub, already in his lab coat.

     "Cub, you're in charge of project monster 77, and project Slab 42," the man from previous said to teenager Cub, that just nodded and walked away,

     "Curse that so called Teacher. He knows I hates to see those two projects," teenager Cub mumbles grumpily,

     "He hates to see me and Etho?" Doc asked, more to himself,

     "That stupid old man. Why must he sent me to those two experiments that I am most pitied," teenager Cub mumbles  again, looking more annoyed, "That stupid liar never fulfill his promises anyway, I'm such a fool to expect him ro change," he countinues to mumbled as he walk, and opened a room,

     "What do you want, scientist?" Past Doc who has been turned into a creeper hybrid asked, emotionless, and cold,

     "I am going to be your baby sitter for who knows how long, if you wanf to complain, go to Mr. Ethan, FYI I also don't want to be here," teenager Cub said, getting out his clipboard,

     "What? Are you going to test me until I'm dying too? If you are, go ahead, I don'g care anyway," past Doc said harshly,

     "I can't promise you I won't, but I myself didn't like to harm anyone. So, I hope you could cooperate with me, and be nice," teenager Cub said again, while he started to write down something at his clipboard,

     "Whoa, I don't know you knew Cub before you get to Hermitcraft, Doc," Scar said, "now I felt kind of jealous that you knew him more," he countinues wig a sigh,

     "He never told me anything about him. Tho we did became friends, and everytime I almost died he'll always patched me up. He's my best friend apart from Etho, tho we grew quite apart since me and Etho escaped the Lab," Doc explained. And as he finished his sentence, the world faded to white.

     "You can't just do that! Give them a chance!" A past Cub yelled. He's now bald, and have his fancy beard,

     "Don't tell me what to do, Cub. Project monster 77, and Slab 42 is going to be removed. We'll kill them two tommorow, and no buts! They aren't needed anymore, we have to throw them away, or the goverment will find our illegalcy," Cub's teacher who's name is Mr. Ethan said, as he glared to Cub,

     Cub was gojng to argue back, before he saw a small remote at Ethan's hand. A small remote that will get him electriced to death. Cub paled, and just nodded in defeat,

     The group follows past Cub as he walk away from Ethan's room. Cub went into Doc and Etho's cells or rooms,

     "Is he really going to murder you?" Ren asked to Doc, who just shaked his head while shrugging, signing that he don't know,

     "I haven't seen him at the day I escaped. But I don't know what happend to him either," Doc admitted, as then past Cub enters the room, revealing Doc and Etho both are sleeping,

     "I can't believe I'll do this," past Cub said, as he kept typing something at a panel. Suddenly, the group saw Etho get electriced, and had woken him up,

     "Cub, what the heck?!" Etho asked, trying to not waking past Doc up,

     "Etho. They are going to kill you both. You two have to go away from here. I'll open the cells, so you two could run. Woke Doc up, and don't tell him about this, he'll just going to go back to find me if he knows.  I have to stay and give you a quit access, but I wouldn't be able to hold it for long," Cub said seriously, he take a deep breath then countinues his words, "Go towards the city. Go on a hiding. They have backups facility if something gone wrong. If anybody gets on way, just kill them. I would broke this cells at 3 am," he finished,

     "But, Cub! What about you?! We can't just go and leave you here! If they know you'll be dead!" Etho argued,

     "I won't, Etho. As soon as you two have gone, I'll catch up, okay? I am going to pack my things, and I promise I'll catch up to you guys," Past Cub said,

     "Promise?" Etho asked, Cub just nodded seriously, "okay then," Etho countinues. Then, another blinding light faded their visions into white,

     "You traitor! You let them escaped!" Ethan yelled at Cub. Cub doesn't look good. He has bruises, cuts, and some burn marks on him.

     Ethan throwed Cub into the woods, and yelled, "I hope you'll root in there! You deserved it, you traitor!" He said,

     Meanwhile, Cub has just gotted up to his knees as a little creature came to his views, Vexes,

     "Hello, little one. I see what they've done to you. And do not worry, I am not an enemy," the Vex said, as it turned into a human sized Vex,

     "Who and what in the world are you?" Cub asked in shock,

     "I am the elder Vex. The one that have blessed some players like you, the gift if Vexes, the ability to control the magic around you," the Vex said, "I'm not going to lie, you have been in my interest since you've born," they countinue said,

     "So I'm a Vex now?" Cub asked,

     "No. But I'll train you to be as though as them. And I'll send you to your friends after the training," the elder Vex said,

     And the last image the group saw before thd white blinding light came to faded their visions, is Cub accepting the elder Vex's hand, and shakes it.

I am proud of this, and I am definately going to make Scar's past next.

Btw, yeah. Cub wad the one that make Doc's and Etho's escape gone well.

And at the end of this series, you will see Doc punching Cub because he  never told him about this, and then broke down and hugged him. And no, it's not a ship.
