Chapter 10

I quickly pulled on a pretty black dress and black ankle boots. Then I straightened my hair.

Mom has a surprise. I CANT WAIT!
Sadly, I'm not allowed to have a girls night out. But that's okay! I'll have it tomorrow!

I go down. It's all dark. I hear something bouncing. I gasp and reach the light switch. Suddenly EVERYONE jumps at me and screams "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MACKENZIE HAPPY SWEET 18TH!!!"  I gasp and in my reflex turn the light off again.

Janie began to laugh. Then everybody. Even me. I turn the light on and scoop Janie in my arms, and I realize EVERYONE I know is there. Even Jess and Britt! Everyone came, hugged me, handed me my present and went off with mom and dad.

Boy, even my brother was there with his pregnant wife and their 4 year old son! I hugged him and greeted his wife. She embraced me like a sister. I kissed my nephew and then hugged Jess and Britt.

Soon the party was over. I had had a handbag with makeup as a cake. I out the leftovers in the refrigerator and was gonna go up to crash into my bed when mom stopped me.

"Kenzie, remember how you always wanted an iPhone 6?" Mom asked.  I gasped and nodded. Dad handed me a package wrapped in purple with a white bow. Tears began to slip as I hugged mom and dad and chocked out a thank you.

"And....." Dad fumbled in his pocket and pulled out a ticket. "We got you on a program!" Mom said wringing her wrists. "What program?" I asked confused. "A baby program!" Cried them both. I felt dazed.  "what..exactly is that?" I asked.

"You go for 3 months. You are partnered up with a random guy. You will meet on a table for two the next day. There will be a card with the photo of your child/children. You will need to go shopping according to the child and his or her needs. The next day, your child will be given to you. You need to take care of it." Explained mom.

I gaped. Be partnered up with someone??? Take care of a child? "Wait! What do you mean 'children'?" I asked, my hair swaying. "There could be twins or triplets!" Dad laughed.

I squealed. This was a dream come true! Except I would be 'married' to a RANDOM guy for 3 MONTHS!!?? But oh well!

"When do I leave?" I ask. "I need time to pack!" 3 months!

"You leave Sunday, darling" chirped mum. 2 days!!? "I guess I better start tomorrow!" I giggled. I kissed Janie, and went upstairs.

I was to lazy to open any presents. I showered, put on a tank top with sweat pants and collapsed on my bed happily.
