Chapter 15

I woke lazily and checked the time. It was 7!!!

"SHIT!!" I screamed. "MARK MATT GET YOUR LAZY ASS UP THIS INSTANT!" and dashed into the shower.
I quickly showered and ran to check the time. 7:30??? "Holy fuck! MARK MARK MARK MARK MAARRRKK!" I call in his ear. He wakes with a start "What the- OWWW" He had woken up and bumped his head right into mine.

"OWWW!" I screamed, hanging on to my towel for dear life "MARK! Aw man! Just hurry up and dress!!"

Mark looked at me in concern. "You alright? I didn't mean to- HOLY SHIT!!" I had shoved my new iPhone 6 under his nose. "7:35?!? Fuck!"

I ran in my closet. I was just putting on my cherry sundress when there was banging on the door. "Hurry up! We have to be in the hall in 20 mins!!"

I hurriedly pulled on a red jacket and red heels. I grabbed my red clutch too.
I ran out and Mark in. I rolled my eyes.

I made both a quick breakfast and we were heading for the hall 15 mins later with still 5 mins left.

We arrived and I asked Emma what we had to do. She told to look for the table with your house number on it. We found 284 and sat down.

Mark reached for the huge envelope in brown paper but I put mine on it first. He frowned at me but I told him to wait.

Miss Grayling walked on the stage. She told us that we would know from this enevelope, how many children we are getting, what their gender is, allergies, likes, how they were found, a little about them.

"You.....may now....OPEN THEM!" Said Miss Grayling.

Mark grabbed it first so I moved next to him. He shared it as we both had a good look. Here's how it went: CARD 1, CARD 2.

Age: Almost a year.
Birthday: Saturday, May 16
Allergies: Peanuts, Raddish
Likes: Going outdoors, toys, being tossed in the air
Dislikes: Monsters, dark, the colour orange.

Kevin was found in an abandoned house near Sisale. There was a half broken down kennel and wailing could be heard. The rescuers quickly saved him. He came in yesterday.

Kevin has green eyes and almost brown hair. Kevin's mom had abandoned him because when she found out she was pregnant with him, her husband committed suicide. She loved him extremely and when she found out it was all because of Kevin, she gave birth to him and abandoned him. He was sent to his grandma's. Recently, like 2 days ago she also died. So Kevin was sent back to his mum, but she abandoned him here. She is now in prison.

Me and Mark had laughed a bit at his likes and dislikes but when we reached his where he was found and a bit about him, we stopped.

Mark's eyes darkened in anger and he furrowed his brows. I gulped and took CARD 2.

Gender: Female
Age: 8 months
Birthday: Thursday, September 29th
Allergies: Dark Choclate
Likes: Rubber toys, balls
Dislikes: shouting, dark, heights.

Izabel was not 'found' she was handed in yesterday. A woman confessed that her husband was always busy and she had enough work on her hands to take care of her child.

Izabel was turned in with gashes on her body and bruises too. The mother also confessed that she had dropped Izabel a few times and had whipped Izabel when angry.

I looked. I rubbed in the fact that I was a mother of two. My eyes were nearly full of tears. Mark was looking pissed off.

I went back to my seat. Mark stared into my eyes. My eyes narrowed with concentration. Poor kids! "Why would anyone want kids and do that to them..." He growled.

He got up. "Come on, let's go to the store." I took his hand he offered me and we left. Half of it was empty already.

"We're going to be taking care of two kids..." I tell him.
