AN: I have really enjoyed writing this story. Don't worry the story isn't ending so soon, we are just getting started. As always constructive criticism is always welcomed! Without further ado... please enjoy Chapter Three.

----------MARE'S POV----------

I didn't hold back.

I let the lightning go wherever it wanted. All I wanted was for it to destroy everything in its path, including the Samos' estate. My purple lightning struck the ground, trees, everything. I could feel my energy drain, but I wasn't going to stop. The thought of stopping didn't cross my mind once. Anger just kept flooding through my thoughts causing the lightning to get stronger. It became too strong to control as bolts, so I let it take shape as waves. Letting the lightning come from inside of me bursting out in every direction. I wanted to bring harm to these people. They took everything from me, doubted me, and made me into their puppet. I am tired of that. I am Mare the lightning queen. I won't yield for anyone. I let the power consume me, flow through me, and escape me. I hid my emotions for too long, I gathered it all up inside of me, and for a moment the chaos stopped. It was like the eye of a hurricane, you thought it was over because the chaos stopped. But on the other side was just more chaos, even stronger than before. Lightning stronger than ever struck down from the sky, hitting me square in the chest. I didn't feel anything except for a strong wave of lightning escaping me, stronger than anything I had ever done before, causing the world to go black. And just like that all the anger was gone, all my power had left my body, and my eyes closed.

----------CAL'S POV----------

My lungs felt like they were going to explode. I have to find Mare. I have to find Mare. That was all I could think about. My feet just stopped when I saw a small body lying on the forest floor. The body was surrounded by fire, but I couldn't think to control the flames as they started to engulf the body. My only thought was, She is gone.

I took a step forward almost tripping over my own feet. I walked towards the flames letting them surround me. I came to my senses and started to control the flames, making them move away from me, and the body.

I got close enough to put a face to the body.

It was Mare.

My Mare.

Her chest wasn't rising and falling like it should have been.

My world shattered.

Nothing mattered anymore.

Until I saw her chest rise.

I picked her up, her small but muscular body, and ran. I ran knowing I had a chance to save her. She didn't weigh anything to me. Her breathing was getting slower and slower. Her body threatening to give up.

"Please don't leave me Mare. I need you," I whispered to her, begging her to hold on.

When I got close enough to the castle for people to be able to see and hear me, I started yelling, "HELP! PLEASE HELP!" In that moment Mare's chest stopped moving. I lost her.

Then a group rushed up to me and took Mare from my arms. I didn't have the strength to argue. All I wanted was for her to be okay, but my hope had faded when her breathes had stopped.

The world around me had become blurred, and all the voices around me had become muffled. My thoughts became consumed by one single hope, Mare would make it through. I didn't really know what was happening when I was led inside the castle and ended up in my bed chambers. My eyes somehow closed and I ended up drifting off into a dreamless sleep.

AN: Hoped you enjoyed that! For now I plan on posting once everyday! {Sorry this chapter was short!}
