I put on some denim shorts and red tank top. I put my hair in a small ponytail and threw on my white cap. Grabbing my purse I went down the stairs and texted Alan to tell him that I was ready.
Alan: We will be there in about ten minutes.
Angelina: alright
I grabbed my earplugs and listened to music until I heard a knock at the door. I paused the song that was playing and put my stuff in my purse as quickly as I could. I walked over to the door and opened it. Alan stood with a black cap, a dark blue t-shirt, and some black basketball shorts.
"My family's in the truck." He said, smiling.
I waved to his family in the truck. I walked outside and closed the door behind me. Alan opened the door for me and I got in, sitting in the seat next to his older brother, Jake. He smirked at me and wiggled his eyebrows. I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him, turning to greet Alan's parents and his little brother.
"Glad you could come with us Angelina." His mother said, smiling widely.
"Thank you for inviting me." I said as I buckled up.
Alan sat next to me and smiled after he buckled up. Mr. Stirling put his foot on the gas petal and we began to drive to our destination.
"So how have you been?" Alan's mom asked me.
"I have been...alright." I replied, smiling slightly.
"Oh! How are you and... Aaron?" She asked with a smirk.
I stiffened and Alan shifted his position.
"W-we broke up." I said.
Mrs. Stirling gasped and apologized for bringing it up. I said that it was fine and I turned to see Alan looking at me.
"You broke up with him?" Alan whispered so only I could hear him.
"Yeah, yeah I did." I responded with a sigh following it.
"Smart decision shorty." Alan said as he lifted his chin up and smirked as he looked at me from the corner of his eye.
"Yeah I guess, but it came with a price." I said as I shrugged.
"What do you mean?" He asked me.
I looked and noticed that no one could hear us. Jake had his headphones on, his mom and younger brother were having a conversation, and his dad was focused on the road.
"He kind of started to hurt me again and shoved me onto the lockers, which gave me a little bump on my head." I whispered into his ear.
"He what?!" Alan exclaimed.
"Alan Matthew Stirling do not yell! And what do you mean 'he what'?" Mrs. Stirling asked.
I covered Alan's mouth before he could say anything about Aaron and what had happened.
"Oh nothing ma'am. I just told him about how my brother almost burned down the house." I said, forcing a fake laugh.
"Oh dear!" She said.
I forced a laugh which made her laugh along as well. She then went back to her conversation with her youngest son and I turned to glare at Alan.
"I'll kill him." Alan whispered through gritted teeth.
"No, no, no. If anyone kills him it's going to be me." I said.
Thankfully that made Alan smile.
"Oh, Alan!" Mrs. Stirling exclaimed.
"Yes?" He asked.
"I invited your girlfriend to tag along with us on the boat ride." She said.
"What?!" Alan and I exclaimed at the exact same time.
"I ran into her at the store and invited her." She said happily.
Alan and I looked at each other and it was obvious to both of us that we wanted to jump out of the car and run. I groaned quietly and leaned back, looking up at the cieling of the car.
'Well this will be fun.' I thought as we got closer to our destination.
