*Alan's POV*

I saw all I needed to see and more. I tried to keep an eye on Angel once Elizabeth excused herself and walked out of the small room, but it was hard. My family was talking to me about how sweet Elizabeth was and how I made the right choice. If only they knew the truth.

I turned to my parents and answered their questions and tried to lean to my left to see passed my mother. It was hard to see through the window and keep eye contact with my family so that they couldn't really suspect anything.

That's when I saw it. After the last question that I can't even remember was when I saw it. I saw Angel trying to stand up. She looked like she was in a lot of pain. Then I saw Elizabeth walking towards her with the metal rod that had belonged to one of the paddles that broke.

'What is she doing?' I wondered as I kept my eyes on the two of them. Then I understood what was going on. I quickly stood up and ran out of the room. I made it out just in time to see my best friend beginning to sink.

"Why did you do that?!" I yelled at Elizabeth.

She turned to me and before she could say anything I shoved her out of the way, took a deep breath, and without hesitation, dove into the water. My eyes quickly fluttered open and I saw a blurry version of Angelina. I quickly swam as fast as I could and grabbed her waste.

I wrapped my right arm around her and quickly started to swim back up. She wasn't heavy for me so we got up pretty quickly. I made sure her head was the first thing out of the water. I called out for my parents and Jake quickly ran over and took her from me. My dad reached down and helped me back onto the boat.

Jake put her down onto the floor of the boat and checked to see if she was breathing. I quickly ran over to the weak body of my best friend and knelt down next to her.

"She isn't breathing." Jake said as he gave me a worried look.

I looked down at her and put my hands on her chest and began to do CPR. I could feel my face heat up when I connected my lips with hers in order to give her some air. Everyone on the boat was watching as I continued to do CPR.

"Come on, Angie." I whispered as I put my lips against hers again.

I felt the tears beginning to fall down my cheeks.

'Please God, don't let me lose her.' I prayed silently as I did chest compressions.

Right when I was about to give up, Angel began to cough out some water. My eyes widened and a huge smile grew on my face. She slowly began to open to her eyes but then she closed her eyes after wincing in pain.

"Oh thank God! We have to get her to the hospital." My dad said as he jogged over to the driver's seat.

"I-I don't know what happened. I just walked over to her and she got scared and fell off." Elizabeth was telling my mom as she fake cried.

My mother embraced her and told her that it was okay. I lost it.

"You are such a liar!" I yelled at her, shoving her away from my mother.

"Alan what are you-?"

"I saw what you did to her!" I yelled at Elizabeth.

Her eyes widened and she began to back away a little bit. I clenched my fists tightly and kept eye contact with her, ignoring my moms questions.

"You hit her with the broken paddle which explains the bruises on her arm and her shin!" I shouted in her face.

She narrowed her eyes and glared at me.

"Nice observation Alan Stirling." She said, smirking.

"You are a psychopath." I whispered angrily.

She stiffened and I could see the anger in her eyes. She then started to laugh loudly.

"Y-you think I'm a psycho?" She asked between breaths.

I gritted my teeth and groaned angrily. I was definitely going to call the cops on her when we got back to shore. My dad quickly brought us to the dock and I held Angel in my arms, making sure she was safe and still breathing. We got down and called the ambulance and the cops as soon as possible. I continued to hold my best friend in my arms. Elizabeth glanced at me and smiled widely as she began to run away.

"Jake get her!" I called out.

He immediately ran after her and caught her.

"Let me go!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

The police came before the ambulance and I began to answer their questions about Elizabeth.  They believed me once they saw the bruises and cuts on my friend's body. Elizabeth screamed at me and told me that she was going to get me back some day. That convinced the officers. They out her in the back of the car with handcuffs on her wrists. I thanked the police and the ambulance arrived.

They put Angel on a bed and drag her into the back of the ambulance. I ran over to the vehicle and jumped into the back with Angel.

"Alan, what are you doing? We will see her at the hospital." My mom said.

"I'm not leaving her mom." I said.

She thought for a little bit but then smiled and nodded. The men closed the doors and I was left alone with Angel in the back of an ambulance.
