We weren't really do anything in science class so I started to write the Valentine's Day card that I had thought about writing to Alan. My heart was pacing just thinking about making him a card. What if he doesn't like it? I wondered. I looked over at the desk that he was sitting in and saw him talking to one of his other good friends, Manny.

"What's that?" Aaron asked from beside me. My eyes widened. I didn't even realize that he had sat next to me. I jumped a little bit as I heard his voice from beside me.

"Sorry." He said, chuckling nervously as he scratched the back of his neck. He was kind of cute to be honest. I laughed a little bit.

"It's alright." I assured him. He stared at me and smiled. We sat in awkward silence for a little bit until he asked again.

"So what is it?" He asked as he tilted his head towards the blank paper.

"Oh it's a Valentine's Day card." I said, laughing nervously. He smiled a little bit and lifted an eyebrow.

"Isn't Valentine's Day like a month from now?" He asked with a cheesy smirk on his face.

I could feel my face beginning to burn from embarrassment. Aaron chuckled.

"I'm kidding. It's never too early to make one. I mean if it's for someone really special then you would need a lot of time to think about what to say, right?" He said.

"Yeah." I replied with a small smile.

"So," he began as he put his chin on his hand, "who's the lucky guy?"

I felt my face burn and I shook my head.

"Aw come on, I won't judge." He said, smiling sweetly. I sighed and got close to his ear.

"Alan." I said simply. He shrugged.

"Figured." He said. My eyes widened. He barely even knows me and he already knew who I liked? I was surprised.

"It was pretty obvious." He said. My face a tomato now. He looked at me and laughed. I looked over and saw Alan looking at us with an eyebrow raised.

I quickly looked away and shushed Aaron. I put my hand over his mouth and he lifted an eyebrow in confusion. I let out a sigh of relief and then removed my hand.

"It was that obvious?" I mumbled. He nodded and I hid my face in my hands and groaned in frustration. He chuckled and moved one of my hands.

"Your face is too pretty to hide." He said. I smiled and I could feel my face heat up a very tiny bit.

"Thanks, I guess." I said. He smiled at me and then looked at the projector. I looked at him from the corner of my eye.

"So, what's your family like?" I asked him.

"They're pretty cool I guess." He said. I nodded and we sat in silence for a little bit. I then began to realize that someone's eyes were on me. I quickly looked over to where I could sense the pair of eyes and I looked to see Alan watching me from the corner of his eye.

Has he been watching us this whole time? I wondered. He looked away and continued to talk to Manny. I then looked back at Aaron and saw him looking at the wall. I looked at my desk and listened as the bell rang letting us know that class was in session.
