Alan walked over to me while I was getting my books and decided to scare me. I jumped and dropped my binder on the floor. My papers flew out and the card was by his foot. I began to freak out.
"Sorry." He said, chuckling as he started to help pick up my papers.
"It's alright." I said as I quickly grabbed the card. He looked at me and smiled. I could feel my face getting warm so I quickly smiled back and then looked away. It took us a little while to pick up the papers but we got it done.
"I'm sorry." He said again. I smiled and shook my head.
"It's alright. Don't worry about it." I said. He smiled at me and we made eye contact.
"There you are." Aaron said as I saw him walking towards us with a smile on his face. I smiled at Aaron and waved.
"Yeah sorry. I dropped my binder and I had to pick up some of the papers." I explained. He smiled and nodded. I looked over at Alan and saw him eyeing Aaron.
"Are you ready to go princess?" He asked.
"Princess?" Alan said with an angry tone in his voice. Was he mad at Aaron?
"Yeah, it's my special name for Angel." He told Alan. I was flattered. I pushed up my glasses and smiled at him.
"Why can't you just call her Angel?" Alan asked. Aaron shrugged and looked at me again.
"My car is outside. I'll wait for you in the car okay?" I nodded and Aaron walkes away. Alan looked really angry.
"Are you alright, Al?" I asked him. He nodded, still looking at the door.
"Yeah I'm fine." He mumbled. I gave him worried look.
"Have fun, I guess." He said as he stood up and started to walk away.
"Are you sure you're okay?" I asked him. He stopped, nodded without even looking at me, and then walked away. I frowned a little bit. Why was he mad? Is he actually jealous? I wondered. I ignored my thoughts and walked out of the school building and saw Aaron's car.
I smiled and jogged over to it. I got it and buckled up.
"You alright?" He asked. He looked at me and waited for me to respond.
"Yeah I'm fine. Now, let's go get some bubble tea!" I exclaimed like a little kid. Aaron laughed and then drove off. I looked through the rearview mirror and saw Alan watching us leave. He then turned around and walked off.
It took us about ten minutes to get to the beautiful place that had the beautiful bubble tea. He and I talked about classes during the drive.
We got off and walked in and my eyes widened. It was so beautiful. There was a variety of amazing flavors. There were little tables inside and ouside.
"What flavor would you like?" Aaron asked.
"I-I don't know." I said as I continued to admire the flavors. He smiled at me and watched as my inner five year old came out. I smiled at the delicious looking flavors and looked at each of them excitedly.
"That one." I said as I pointed at the strawberry. He smiled and order our bubble teas. It only took about a minute for them to make our bubble teas. Aaron payed the lady after we argued about who was going to pay and then we sat outside.
"It's beautiful outside." I said. He smiled and looked around.
"Yeah, but not as beautiful as you." He said, smiling. I felt my cheeks get a little warm and I smiled back.
"Th-thanks." I said shyly. He took a sip of his bubble tea and looked up at the sky.
"What's your family like?" I asked him. He looked at me and tensed up a little bit.
"Well, they're uh, it's a little complicated and weird." He paused a little bit and put his bubble tea on the table, "My dad works at a company and I never really see him. When I do he and I always get into fights because he is always drunk and then he storms off to his room. My mom on the other hand is a stay at home mom. She raised me without my dad pretty much. He was never really there for me because of his job. My mom...she...she goes through a lot. She gets abused by my father when he comes home. I want to help her out but she tells me to stay out of it. He gets pretty crazy sometimes as well. He once chased us down with an axe saying that he was going to kill us. We called the police but they don't believe us because my father is the sheriff's best friend. So yeah."
I stayed silent and stared at him for a little bit. He had a hard life. I then got up and gave him a huge hug.
"I'm sorry." I said. He smiled sadly and patted my arm since he couldn't hug me back at the angle his was in.
"Thanks." He said. I then walked over to my seat and drank my bubble tea.
"What about your family?" He asked. I raised my eyebrows a little bit and put my tea down.
"They're pretty cool. My dad works at a plant and my mom is a stay at home mom as well. She has been looking for a job but she hadn't really found one yet. My brother is four years older than me and we have a pretty good relationship. He and I connect through music. He plays the electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and the piano. I like to sing, play the acoustic guitar, and the ukulele. I used to take piano lessons but I was never able to read notes so I only played it by ear and completely forgot the notes on the keys. I taught myself how to play the instruments I play now which I guess is pretty cool. I sing a lot and do a lot of other things such as write books and stuff like that." I said.
He smiled widely and his eyes sparkled.
"That sounds awesome!" He said. I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah I guess." I said. He smiled at me and took a sip of his tea.
"So you like to sing?" He asked. I nodded, feeling my face get warm.
"I like to sing too so don't be embarrassed." He said. My eyes widened and I looked at him in awe.
"What?" He asked, "What did I say?"
"You like to sing too?!" I asked as I began to get excited. He laughed at my response and nodded.
"Yeah I sing a lot when I'm in my room. Usually because I just like music and I want to block out everything around me. I know how to play the guitar as well." He said. I squealed.
"That's amazing! We should totally do a duet some day." I blurted out. He lifted an eyebrow and I covered my mouth.
"Sorry I got excited." I said. He chuckled and nodded.
"That would be cool." He said. My eyes widened again and I smiled really big.
"R-really?!" I asked excitedly. He nodded and I jumped out of my seat.
"Yes!" I exclaimed. I froze and quickly got back in my seat.
"I mean cool." I said laughing nervously.
"You're adorable." He said laughing. I blushed and laughed with him.
"Come on. I'll take you home." He said. I nodded and we got in the car.
"I had fun. Thank you, Aaron." I said. He smiled at me.
"I had fun too." He said. He then pulled out of the parking space and drove me home.
