I reached home at around 3, fresh from the lunch with Jess. I just went around doing some stuff, all the while, thinking how extremely weird the last 3 days had gone.
At around 7:30, Seth arrived. I didn't acknowledge his presence at all.
Seth tried to talk to me. But I didn't care.
"Bryce.. honey, just listen to me once.."
"Why should I? What do you even want to say? It doesn't look like we're on speaking terms," I said, turning away.
He held my hand, and pulled me towards himself. I struggled to get out of his tight hold, and eventually, I gave up, ready to cry.
"Honey, please.. I wasn't cheating on you," Seth said. He sounded quite unconvincing.
"Then what, was it Seth?" I asked angrily.
"It was just business.." he said.
"Business?" I asked, with a sense of disbelief. I let out a sarcastic laugh. I turned around and left him where he was.
After dinner, I went to bed, having no energy to do anything else. It was at that moment, when I picked up my phone. What caught my eye wasn't the time; it was past 10. It was Tuesday.
And I was gonna have coffee with Chris tomorrow at noon.
