Chapter 22 - Falling For You

Bryce's POV

I woke up the next day, but my mind was flooded with thoughts about Chris. We were both married, got over whatever problem was there.. then why?

I wasn't distracted by any of these thoughts during filming, thankfully, but there was one person (yours truly) who seemed to notice something off with me. Not when the filming was on, but when we were done for the day. 

It was the second day after the kiss scene, when I was on the edge, just staring at the night surroundings and getting some nice breeze. I was just trying to get Chris and the kiss out of my mind - an effort, which, as I found out, was completely useless. Thinking about Seth and the kids at that moment made me start to weep. I wiped my tears by my hands, and sniffed. 

But then I heard him.

Chris's POV

I was heading off to my room, stretching a little, being a little casual and funny with myself, when I heard some sounds. Human alright, both the hearing and the sounds.

I quietly walked to the source of the sounds. And the sight I saw crushed me.

Bryce was staring at the night sky, but wiping off her tears. I was starting to hate myself mentally for doing the kiss scene without telling her. She was married, she was a mother to two adorable kids, and here I had kissed her in the movie without her own knowledge of it. God, was I feeling guilty.

 I managed to get myself together, and whispered, "Bryce?" 

She turned around, and changed her expression from what she had to a smile. 

"Oh, hey Chris," she said, as if nothing had been happening.

"Hey, nice breeze, huh?" I said, trying not to talk about that for now.

"Yeah," Bryce replied, her voice cheerful. I was glad.

I came up to her side, taller than her by quiet some margin. As I (and I, the author) found out, she was 170 cm, and I was 188. Quiet a nice difference of 18 cm.

"Hey, uh..." I started, starting to try to broach the subject with her, "I heard that you were.. crying.."

The colour faded from her cheeks. Geez, I was so bad at this.

"I'm sorry I.."

She turned to me, and interrupted me, "It's okay Chris.. it wasn't such a big thing.. I mean, just in a movie, right? Sometimes it happens between friends. It's.. it's nothing, just.."

The 'just' kept me listening.

"It's just that you are so damn cute, and when you kissed me, I was falling for you though I shouldn't. I mean, we have families, you know?"

Never again, am I kissing anyone on-screen without they knowing. Lesson. Learned. Period.

I sighed, "Yeah..", still unhappy with myself.

"Well.. can you just give me a nice best friend hug now?" she asked innocently. 

That filled my heart with joy. My sadness faded.

I chuckled, and hugged her. Our mood was glowing. When we pulled back, we started talking about other matters, and laughed as if she wasn't crying a while ago.
