Sozins comet (part 2)

KATARAS POV

I felt the pain in my thigh and fingers, the rock wedged in my skin was sharp and quite deep. I was carrying Toph on my back because her feet got ripped up from the landing. I'm was also steadying Sokka who had broken his leg.

I saw Aang, his mouth and eyes glowing, soon Ozais began doing the same but a orange reddish colour. We made our way to the large pillar that Aang was on,

Of course it's the tallest one here I thought,

I knew I'd have to climb up and carry both Toph and Sokka. Though I had energy, we stopped an entire fleet of fire nation ships! Nothing was in our way.

I began climbing, Toph still on my back and holding onto Sokka who helped pull himself up each rock but with his good leg only. I felt the pain in my fingers, they were already broken from that stupid fire nation soldier and now I was carrying three times my body weight up a steep rock. We got close to the top and I helped Toph get on top and Sokka as well. I went to pull myself up but I couldn't, my fingers felt like they had been crumbled and I couldn't hold on anymore. I fell, this time I couldn't use waterbending to save myself because my fingers were broken.

I hit the ground, the impact on my chest made breathing hard, I shut my eyes.

"Aang...." I whispered, I was so weak. I hated this happening, always being the damsel in distress, so I pushed up. Although I could barely breathe I kept going. Climbing the rock once again. What once was pretty deep in my thigh had now pierced right through. And my fingers were in so much pain, if I ever got out of this I'd probably never be able to bend again.

I reached the top. The right of my forehead was cut and bruised, my thigh was impaled by that same rock, my fingers are swollen and broken and my chest was bruised from impact. I looked awful, I started to cry I just couldn't hold myself together anymore. Toph hugged me and so did Sokka.

I looked up to see Aang, he glowed for a second and bent the water to put out the surrounding fires. He was incredible, he mastered the avatar state!

AANGS POV

I put out the fires that wrecked the surrounding wildlife, we did it, we stopped Ozai. I smiled, well that was until I turned around.

"Katara!" I said running to her side and dropping to my knees.

She looked terrible, bruises on every square inch of her body, blood dripping, she had a hole in her thigh that had been cut all the way through and her fingers were mangled.
I hugged her, accidentally a bit too tight, she squealed. I apologised and looked to Sokka who had kataras hand wrappings on his shin and Toph who's feet had been torn and were bleeding.

"I'm so sorry you guys." I said,

"Are you kidding! You kicked Ozais Royal behind!" Sokka said enthusiastically,

"Yeah, you did it twinkle toes!" Toph said, she punched me in the shoulder,

"I'm... so-so proud, A-aang," Katara struggled, she was out of breath.

"Thank you guys." I said, "Katara, how did you get so injured?" I asked.

Sokka answered for her because she was so out of breath the couldn't speak,

"She fell off the edge after her fingers being stomped on by a fire nation soldier, got a piece of rock cut clean threw her leg after helping us escape the ship and bandaged my leg, carried both Toph and I to safety. Climbed this rock holding both Toph and myself. Fell down all the way to the ground from this rock and bruised her chest and climbed back up. I think that's it." Sokka said, Katara smiled,

"Thank you Katara." Toph said

I couldn't believe it, Katara had been so resilient, it's just like I always said, she's a fighter.

"Katara, I'm so proud of you, even with all these injuries you stilled held on and pushed through, enough talk let's get back to zuko and Suki and get you some medical attention." I said helping her up, I went to grab Toph but Katara picked her up first and began limping towards Appa, I steadied Sokka and just looked at her in Awe.

ZUKOS POV

I took Suki to the infirmary, in about half an hour she was bandaged and feeling better.

Thank spirits, Sokka would have killed me I thought.

I saw Appa.

Suki and I ran out to the foyer that the Agni Kai took place in. We approached and saw everyone still alive, I sighed in relief, everyone was alive but some looked pretty mangled and hurt, especially Katara.

I ordered some doctors over to bring a stretcher for Katara to lay down on but she insisted on walking, I didn't question it. I helped Aang take Toph and Sokka in the infirmary as well.

Hours passed and tophs feet were bandaged, she complained and picked at it but we stopped her. Sokka had his shin casted and Aang had a bandage around his scar because it had been reopened. The doctor called us in to where Katara was being treated, she looked bad but way better than she had when we brought her in.

AANGS POV

We walked into Kataras hospital room, she was pretty much mummified in bandaids and bandages. She went to stand up but we all stopped her.
Zuko has Toph on his back because she technically had her eyes blindfolded.

"I'm fine guys, I can walk." She said after we all pushed her back onto the bed,

"Sure you can, but rest now so you can run later." Suki smiled.

The Gaang sat around in her room for ages, zuko and Suki telling the story of how they beat Azula,I told them how Ozai reopened my chakra amd took Ozais bedding away
and Toph said how Katara and Sokka saved her. Everyone was so happy, we did it, a bunch of kids stopped a war.

Soon everyone decided they'd let Katara and I have some alone time.

"Katara, I can't believe how strong you were out there, not that you aren't all the time, but with the injuries you experienced it's incredible."

Katara grinned,

"Yeah I know, I even saved you!" She teased

"Huh? When?" I asked

"When Ozai struck, you fell and I bent the water to soften your landing." She giggled

"Haha, that proves my point even more, you were incredible today, I'm so proud of you." I said

"Don't sell yourself short, I saw the whole glow action, you took fire lord Ozais bending away!" She said,

I smiled "I'm just happy we are all alive. The world will now enter an era of peace."

"I'm excited to spend it with you." She said, a small blush coming across her face.

She asked me to lay down next to her so I did, she rested her head on my chest under. Soon we both fell asleep. This was how it should be, no more fear, no more running.
