The following Monday had so far been hell for Momo. It was by far her busiest day and she hadn't even been allowed a few minutes to grab lunch because her time was completely taken up by running back and forth between classes. And that was before she had to visit the library and weigh herself down with what seemed like a thousand different textbooks. Needless to say, she was going to be up for a while. She hadn't even had a chance to think about what it was going to be like when she got home.
When she managed to push her way through the door, despite the books weighing down her arms like lead, she was met with a sight that felt normal despite the fact that she knew this shit didn't happen anywhere else on planet earth.
"Who the fuck took all the charms out of my crocs?!" Was the first thing Momo heard as she slammed the door behind her. Denki and the other two men paid her no attention, Shouto pretending like he didn't hear his blond friend, and Izuku looking up at the boy in a concerned manner. God, this is really not what the raven-haired needed right now.
"The fact that you call them charms makes me sad for you," Shouto said, cherry lollipop hanging loosely from his lips as he absently scrolled through his phone. Momo sighed heavily as she slammed the door in an attempt to get their attention. None of them paid her any mind, not even Izuku who was trying to both pay attention to the book he was reading and the conversation at hand.
"You took them didn't you asshole! You always take my stuff just to fuck with me!" Denki was getting genuinely angry now and Momo didn't know whether to interrupt him or just stayed silent. Of course, though, being a rather gentle soul, she instead just settled somewhere in between and cleared her throat. None of them noticed, or none of them cared.
"Oh? You really think so Danki?" Shouto just prodded, removing the lollipop in his mouth as he popped his words and leaned his head over the back of the couch. He let his head his the shelf behind him as his heterochromatic eyes rolled to his fuming roommate. Denki was practically on fire as he stormed shirtless from his bedroom, charmless crocs in hand, and slammed them down on the coffee table next to where Shouto had his feet propped up.
"I told you not to call me Danki! I'm not a fucking dank meme, Sho!" He yelled, placing his hands on his hips. It was for the first time that Momo actually noticed that Denki was kinda built. Not super muscular, a lot more lean than Shouto for sure as his musculature could be covered up by layers, but toned to be sure. Momo's eyebrows scrunched up in disgust as she realized she had just been staring at Denki Kaminari. Was he an attractive man? Maybe. But god, ew, it would be a cold day in hell before she was ever interested in the guy who liked drinking whole gallons of milk for breakfast and microwaving oranges. "Where the fuck are my charms?!"
"Hey, you wear crocs indoors, expect to be punished," Shouto just looked at him as though it were an obvious rule that Denki should already know about before he went straight back to scrolling through what ever was far more interesting than his blond roommate at the moment. "I was just getting justice for all the times you made me watch you walk out of your room in your boxers and those ugly-ass shoes," The dual-haired man stated matter-of-factly.
"I'm about to beat you with these ugly-ass shoes unless you get to running," Denki's voice went serious and Shouto just realized an eyebrow at him, scoffing as he laughed out,
"You're not serious." Denki's response was to raise his eyebrows back and hold up his coral colored croc, devoid of its usual charm.
Shouto was quick to scramble up and over the back of the couch, Denki following swiftly behind and knocking over at least a couple of things that looked like they might have some monetary value (though, knowing the guys and their level of financial responsibility, they probably found them in the dumpster behind the building). Momo just set her books down with a thunk as she watched them run out of the room. Maybe she should be glad they hadn't noticed her entrance into the apartment because they were too wrapped up in their own...problems. If you could even call missing your croc charms a problem...
There was some minority's concerning crashing sounds accompanied by yelling in the other room that Momo ignored as she looked up friendly at Izuku and sat herself self down with crossed legs beside the glass coffee table. Yay, another fun night of studying until she was unable to actually read words and the world turned into mere color blobs. This was always how it was in days leading up to big exams. With winter break headed toward them at an alarming pace, it was no surprise that all the professors decided to pile on.
Izuku looked up at her apologetically, probably for ignoring her presence before or maybe he was just apologizing for his strange friends. Either way, Momo returned it with a quick nod and a defeated sigh as she slumped against the front of the couch tiredly.
"Long day?" Izuku made casual conversation as he focused his eyes back on his book and pushed his round reading glasses further up his freckled nose. Momo would've found the boy cute, but he wasn't exactly her type and he was already completely enamored with a girl named Ochako in his biology class, so it wasn't like Momo had much of a chance even if she did like him.
"You could say that. I was running between classes all day and I still have a few hours of studying ahead of me..." Her sentence trailed off as she let her head fall against the glass table. She knew that college was an amazing opportunity that not everyone got to have and that she should be taking full advantage of it but dear god she just needed some sleep.
"Is there anything I can get you?" Izuku asked, his voice laced with genuine empathy for the girl who had what seemed like a limitless amount of work. The freckled boy had been there himself plenty of times and god knows that neither Shouto brow Denki lifted a finger for him. But Momo had. When he was about ready to pass out studying differential equations she had practically poured coffee down his throat so it was only appropriate that he return the favor.
"I'm okay for now, but I'm sure that answer will change in the not so far off future," Momo gave a causal laugh as she scratched the back of her head and yawned loudly. It wasn't a very "lady-like" thing to do and her mother would've reprimanded her for it, and she had to remind herself that she was an adult now and she could yawn loudly if she wanted to. "But thank you."
"Okay, just keep me posted," The freckled boy said as he turned back to his book.
