I woke up in Barricade's alt mode and saw that the sun had set. It appears that it had set hours ago.
"Mm,... what time is it?" I asked groggily. I realized that Barricade was driving at a steady pace, and he must have been really focused on the road, because he did not reply.
"Barricade?" I said a little louder.
"Oh, well. Look who decided to fall asleep and leave all the work to me. How was your nap?" I was practically drowning in the sarcasm that laced his words.
"You could have told me to wake up or something. Do a break check, that will wake me up." He quickly break-checked and I yelped as I fell off the seat.
"Ha. How extremely funny. I'm dying of laughter." I said in a monotone voice. I heard a rough chuckle from the radio.
The night was simple like this, driving and having fun, but one careless driver decided to ruin it.
Barricade was on a highway, going about 72 mph. He was being extra cautious about the other drivers around him, but one dunce decided to drive straight for Barricade. Barricade didn't have enough time to pull to safety, and there was a one-on-one collision. I saw red blood splattered on the seat in front of me, blood pooling around me. I felt glass cut into my skin and the impact was gone.
"Y/n, are you alright?" Barricade asked. Barricade, luckily, didn't have severe damage. Just a few broken windows and a few dents. The driver of the car responsible for the crash quickly got out and ran off. I'm sure that it illegal in some states, but alright...
I was unresponsive. Barricade was trying not to sound overly worried about me, but I knew in his voice that he was worried. I was awake, but stunned and couldn't move. I was paralyzed, pretty much. I then saw the culprit that caused this. A 3 inch metal bar was lodged deep inside my upper stomach, tearing a good portion of my body. I saw the rushing blood around me flowing like a river. I noticed some white, hard objects that looked chipped and realized that they were part of my rib cage. I gazed deeper into the deep injury and saw my stomach knitted perfectly, and tried to let out a soft sigh of relief. I didn't let anything out, though. My vision was blurring by the second and I heard the nonstop screeching of wheels echoing ever since the crash. Barricade's voice echoed through my thoughts as he slowly pulled away from the crashed car and drove slowly towards the Decepticon base for aid.
Once arrived, he attempted to transform into his bot mode, but realized just how damaged he was. He slowly drove to Lord Megatron, letting out grunts of pain every now and then. Megatron looked shocked at the sight of the police mustang being so broken.
"What happened, Barricade?" The silver mech asked.
It wasn't a concerned tone that rained upon his words. It was a, 'what did you do now' type of tone.
"I was driving with Y/n back to the base when some scraphead decided to drive straight for me, crashed into me while going 72 mph. Y/n is unresponsive, but I know she's awake." Barricade let out a few soft breaths between some words. I could tell he was in serious pain.
"Open your door. I'll see if I can do anything to help."
Barricade obliged and opened his door, revealing the crimson pool around me. I thought I heard a small gasp from Megatron himself, but all was drowned out by a loud, imaginary buzzing. I felt myself be picked up and tried my hardest to glance at my rescuer.
"Go to the medbay, I'll meet you there." Megatron ordered the other mech. Barricade drove away and Megatron gently carried me to a strange looking room. There, I saw a purple blob with a yellow, smaller blob. It was moving slowly, and I heard muffled words escaping the blob.
"I have never worked on a human, but I shall try my hardest, Lord Megatron." I was placed down without even knowing and I saw the blob up close.
It wasn't a blob at all!
It was a purple mech with a yellow optic.
"Make sure we do not lose her, Shockwave." Megatron said before leaving.
I felt my world spinning around, first at a slow pace, then gradually getting faster. I stared at the ceiling and passed out.

"There's nothing we can do to fully recover her,"

"Try your hardest to! She's the only human being on this planet that I can't lose!"

"But sir, she could get hurt even more if I force treatment upon-"

"Do not disobey your leader!"

I opened my eyes and felt stiff. I saw that I was wearing a makeshift patient dress and saw that it was lifted to reveal my stomach.
Oh gosh..
My stomach.
I felt my eyes widen in horror when I saw that half of my stomach was replaced with metal.
"Do not be afraid, Miss Y/n. I am afraid to report that without this drastic measure, you would not be in full health, making the pain only worse. I am terribly sorry." I looked at the purple mech that I believe is named Shockwave, and I smiled.
"N-no, it's okay. You did what you had to." My voice was cracky and my throat burned. I asked for a cup of water and gladly drank it before speaking again.
"How much blood was lost?"
"Almost enough for you to die. Luckily, since your new system carries both energon and human blood, I had to replace the lost blood with energon."
"And Barricade?" I was almost afraid to ask.
"In good health. He may be a little sore, but nothing he can not handle." I smiled and thanked Shockwave before going to my chambers, finding Barricade sitting on my bed.
"What are you doing on my bed?" I asked.
"Bed? Is that what humans call berths?" Barricade adjusted himself so he was standing. I was glad to see his bot form more than ever at this moment.
"I suppose. Want to see something cool?" I grinned. Barricade looked at me.
"I guess," I lifted the patient dress only to show my stomach. I heard a noise of amazement come from the police mech and I smiled.
"Apparently I lost so much blood and damaged my stomach to the point where I need to be half robot!" I chuckled.
"Thanks for saving my life, Barricade..." He smiled slightly.
