"Trisha!" Crystal screamed, running and giving her a big hug like they were old friends. Then she held her at arm's length looking into her face and asked, "Are you doing okay? Nate says you could not wake up from the dream world, and you were attacked by the Vordak again at the castle last night."
Trisha took a deep breath, tears starting to well up in her eyes. The boys walked up to either side of her and looked concerned. Then the dam broke, and she spilled out the last 24 plus hours since the accident. She told them about laying in the hospital unable to move or speak. The doctor and her parents talking about turning off the life support. How she probably only had until the end of the weekend and then she didn't know what would happen to her.
"What if I call your parents and ..." Mike began but stopped, not knowing what he could tell them without sounding insane. Trisha looked at him, thinking the same thing.
Nate said what they were thinking, "They'd think you were some crazy teenager or someone playing a mean prank."
"Well, we need to try something." Crystal thought but couldn't come up with anything. It was so depressing. She looked at Trisha and at the tears in her eyes and hugged her again. Then whispered in her ear, "Come-on, lets not talk about it now." She took a step back and looked down at her self. She was now wearing a white bikini. She smiled at Trisha, squeezing her hands. "Lets just have some summer fun at the lake!"
Trisha instantly perked up. Drying her eyes. Taking off her jean shorts revealing the rest of her pink bikini, she ran into the lake with Crystal screaming and laughing. Crystal yelled back for the boys to join them. Soon they were all splashing into the lake and Fluffy whimpered on shore. Nate said, "Come on." Fluffy, with a running start, sprung into the lake landing with another belly flop and another tsunami ensued.
Trisha grabbed onto Fluffy's side as he went by getting pulled along. Mike grabbed onto his other side and Trisha and Mike laughed, looking across the giant wolf's back at one another as they went. Mike's heart fluttered in his chest as their eyes locked. Fluffy pulled them out to the middle of the lake, then seeing a fish, he dove. Mike and Trisha swam back up, treading water laughing. They were very close, their eyes met again, and then before Mike knew what he was doing he kissed her. Shocked at what he had done, he looked at her to see if she was mad. She smiled, then wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Her weight upon his shoulders caused them to sink under the water, but then Fluffy came back up right underneath them. Suddenly they were sitting on his back holding each other heading to shore, Fluffy with a large fish hanging out his mouth.
When they got to shore, Mike and Trisha let go. Fluffy ran up to Nate, who was sitting on a small beach with Crystal talking. Fluffy dropped the fish in Nate's lap, who looked up at his wolf. Then Fluffy let them have it, shaking a torrent of water from his fur and drenching the two of them. Trisha and Mike laughed from the lake. Nate grabbed Crystal's hand and pulled her out to the lake, challenging Trisha and Mike to a camel fight. The girls got on the boys shoulders and it was on. Trisha and Mike had the advantage, Mike being much taller than Nate, winning repeatedly. That is until Crystal reached out with her mind and had some seaweed wrap around Mike's legs and he tripped, Trisha and him falling backwards into the water. Nate screamed victorious, proud of himself. Crystal giggled.
