Look Behind You
Marianna looked behind her.
She screamed. Then she looked away. Hold on...this piece of paper said Look Behind Y. Look behind you. She looked 'round. She saw it.
"Hey...girl!" the Doctor called, opening the TARDIS doors to see her. She turned to see the Doctor. "You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." Marianna replied, "Why?"
"Because you just screamed."
"Did I?"
He nodded.
"Oh...well I'm fine."
"K..." He agreed skeptically then reentered the TARDIS.
Marianna knelt down and picked up an orange marker which must've been used to write the note. She added the "ou" to Look Behind Y, to complete it. She pocketed the marker.
Suddenly she had the marker in her hand. She looked down at her arms. They had tallies all over them. She dropped the marker.
"DOCTOR!" She screamed.
He ran out of the TARDIS, "What?"
"We have to go now!" Marianna ordered, running into the TARDIS.
When she opened the door she paused a moment. This was it. The moment she'd been wishing for. She felt the handle. She put one hand on the wood and she pushed. The door swung inward, despite the sign by its side saying; Pull To Open. She stood in the doorway for a moment. The inside was just as beautiful as in the shows. A golden light filled the room and in the middle the green tube with the glow-up, ring of light. The control counsel with so many knobs, levers, and buttons. She really wanted to push one.
"It's-it's," Marianna started.
"Go ahead." said the Doctor, smirking in an I'm so awesome way, "Say it."
"It's really BIGGER ON THE INSIDE!" She shouted. She had always wanted to say those words. "How awkward would it be for me to hug you right now?" asked Mariana.
"Um-" Before he could reply the TARDIS started shaking about. The door handle was being desperately pulled at. Something was trying to get in.
"Let's go!"
"Where?"
"My bedroom!" Marianna suggested then facepalmed, "Seriously it's a good place to hide..."
He didn't argue. The Doctor hit a few buttons, turned a couple knobs, and pulled a huge lever. With that beautiful wheezing sound we were gone.
We landed in my bedroom. It was a rather small fit, but if we kept the door locked Marianna could tell her parents it was a prop. Her friends and her sometimes put on fanfiction plays. We walked out of the control room into my bedroom.
"Okay kid, what aren't you telling me?" The Doctor asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I never told you my name was the Doctor." he said, "How much do you know about me?"
Marianna took a deep breath, "I know that you call yourself the Doctor, but that's not your real name and that to date no one living knows that name other than yourself. I know that you single-handedly destroyed the Daleks as well as the time lords ending the time war, and now you're the last of your kind. I know that you have regenerated and are in your tenth form. I know that you will have or have had three companions, Rose, Martha, and Donna, and that you considered yourself 'with' Rose. I know that all the while when traveled with Rose you realized that you loved her, more and more as time passed, but you never tried to tell her until the day you said goodbye to her. Even then you couldn't get the words out in time an you cried, for the first time in the tenth form you cried. I know you have a French catchphrase and are a great admirer of Agatha Christie. I know you are somewhere between 903 and 905 years old. I know your future as well as much of your past. I know how and when you tenth form dies and how and when your eleventh form dies. I'm no one special, just Marianna Black. A whovian."
He stared at me, "How do you know all this? I've never told anyone..how is that possible?"
"I promise. I'll explain everything but now I have to make sure my friend's okay."
The Doctor nodded and went back into the TARDIS. Marianna followed him. He led her into a TARDIS hall and through a gray, sliding, metal, door. inside was a few beds and medical instruments. It must've been the medical bay.
Kayla was unconscious on one of the beds. Marianna went to her and looked her over. She seemed fine, only sleeping. Her head wound seemed clean and considerably less threatening looking now that it wasn't bleeding.
"She'll be fine." the Doctor promised.
Marianna looked him over. His hair was ruffled and perfectly messy. He wore his blue pinstripe suit under his long brown trench coat. Now he had on black converse. She couldn't take it anymore. She had to do it. She hugged him.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you." She whispered into his ear.
He confusedly hugged back and Marianna was reluctant to part from the embrace. Marianna was randomly reminded of her friend Connor. he would kill her if he found out she was traveling with the Doctor without him. 'Whoa whoa whoa,' she told herself, 'You're not traveling with him yet.' Key word; yet, she thought with a smile.
Kayla began to stir. "We should bring her into my room." Marianna recommended, "She couldn't really handle, well...you."
He gave me another quizzical look then picked up Kayla in one swift movement and brought her away into my room. He laid her onto my bed.
"Wait in the TARDIS." Marianna ordered.
"Yes ma'am." He muttered.
Marianna rolled her eyes at him. he was so perfect.
"Mar-Mari?" Kayla asked, "W-what happened?"
"I came to your house to ask you out to play, but you had fallen down the stairs. You were knocked unconscious but the Doctor says you'll be fine." Marianna lied.
She sat up. "Why are we in your room?" She asked.
"Thought you might want to sleep over." Marianna suggested. She wanted to see if Kayla had any information. The silence had invaded her home.
