"I already said that I wouldn't belittle them!" I sighed out in frustration. Liam and I were currently walking back to the building to meet the baby doctor. I think they're called something but I'm too frustrated right now to try and remember.
"I'm just saying that you're kind of insensitive to people's career choices when it comes to the medical field and I don't want that to make you do anything that you'll regret in the future," Liam answered in a knowing tone. That hot jerk. I can be nice to other medical professions.
"I'm not going to be rude to someone that I need," I told him in a this is the final deal tone.
"You better our baby needs this lady," he snarled back one last comment before holding the door open for me to walk in.
My eyes took a second to adjust to the darker hallway making me momentarily blind. Liam put his hand in mine and we walked to the room that had brought me here via the stationary capsule.
The door to the capsule was open and had three boxes on the inside laying on the floor. No doctor in sight however.
"Hi! I'm Dr. Green!" I heard a high pitched and very loud voice behind me. I jumped maybe four feet and turned around to see the owner of the voice. It was an older women probably around 60 years old. Her hair was a mix of a dyed yellow color and gray. She had a small nose and her eyes were a bright blue. Overall she was very petite and seemed to be very healthy.
"Ahh!" Liam let out a small deep scream and turned around as well. My hand was on my chest trying to calm my heart with Liam doing the same beside me.
"Don't do that!" Liam said in gasps. Dr. Green's mouth turned into a small frown revealing a few more wrinkles.
"I'm sorry. I just don't get many patients anymore and got a little too excited!" She explained. Her eyes fell on me and seemed to lit up, "I'm assuming you're my patient."
I felt slightly stunned for some reason so I just nodded my head like a scared moron.
"Great! I heard that you're a doctor as well how wonderful!" She turned her gaze back to Liam quickly, "can the father please help me with these boxes and take me to your medical room?"
Liam nodded and went and picked up all three boxes with ease and walked back to my side giving me a look. That look being what is happening right now? I feel the same way though so I just shrugged my shoulders and started to lead everyone to the second floor of the barn.
"Wow you two sure seem to have a snazzy set up here. It's absolutely beautiful!" She said while placing a hand on my shoulder. I felt myself stiffen for a second before I relaxed. That's the first time since my mom left that another woman other than Liam's mom has touched me in a motherly way. It felt strange but also comforting.
Shrugging my thoughts off I answered her, "thank you. We think so too."
"And you two are such an adorable couple and quite attractive too! Let me tell you back when I was seemingly overwhelmed with work I didn't see nearly as many people as attractive as you two are!" She said with a slight awe.
I felt my cheeks heat up. Well that's nice to know I guess.
"Thank you! I have to agree my wife here is absolutely stunning!" Liam chirped in. Why would he say that with her here? I turned back to look at him with eyes wide to see him just smirking right back. With a red face I turned towards the door of the barn and opened it.
"It's on the second floor," I said confidently. I successfully changed the topic with that. Thank you everything that is good.
