Liam was still holding me like nothing else in the world mattered. I love it so I'm doing the same thing right back. No matter how happy I was though I couldn't get the fear of having no idea how to take care of baby out of my mind.
"What's wrong?" I suddenly hear from Liam.
"Lee we have no idea what we're doing. I'm not even trained medically on what to do with a child... much less how to mother one," I said frantically pulling away from his hug so I could look him in the eyes. Liam just smiled lopsidedly and tilted his handsome head.
"Dr. Griff and his staff are going to help us. Remember the note from the closet?" Liam reassured me. It's true the note did say that we were supposed to tell them when I was pregnant and then they would help us further. Or at least lead us to believe that they would.
"I guess you're right... but if we tell them that I'm pregnant that means Kyle can figure out. Liam what if Kyle hears about it and then comes and does something terrible?" I panicked. My breathing became fanatic and my vision started to become blurry. I feel like I'm underwater!
"Hey! Ava calm down," he whispered in a steady voice. It wasn't helping much there's too much that can go wrong! "Ava if you don't calm down it might affect the baby!" Liam warned. This stopped my breathing all together.
Liam's right I need to pull myself together...it's not just me anymore. My baby could potentially be harmed if I don't calm down.
"Okay... that's right. Calm. Everything will be fine," Liam whispered sweet nothings into my ear and held me against his solid chest. He feels really warm.
"What are we going to do? We can't do this on our own with the knowledge we have, but if we get help we could be handing Kyle a gun and motivation?" I asked. My breathing was calm but my mind is still scared.
"I can handle Kyle... I've done it before," my husband looked directly into my eye, "Kyle will not hurt you or our baby. I promise."
I sighed out in relief. I don't know why but this promise made the majority of my fears go away. Liam is strong. He can protect us.
"So are we going to get help from Dr. Griff?" I asked him. I think we should, but I want Liam's take on things.
"We should. What are your thoughts?" Liam asked me.
"I think we have to," I answered.
With my answer we got up and went to the building with the stationary capsule. It was the second time that it would be used by us. The first time we just asked for some food and wood. This time we'll be sending instead of receiving.
Liam went straight up to the holo and typed in the message. All he typed was 'Ava is pregnant'. Funny how three words could mean so much. Not just for us but for the world. The human population is dwindling. I knew hardly anyone that was younger than me and the ones that were weren't much younger.
"Now what do we do?" I asked. I went up behind Liam and put my arms around him.
"Now we go back to the house and see what they have to say tomorrow," Liam said confidently.
He turned around in my arms and kissed my forehead.
"We just learned amazing news today. Let's go home and celebrate. Let's forget that awful person in our past and focus on the amazing person that'll be in our future," Liam said with a soft smile. I nodded with a smile of my own. Liam took my hand, and lead me back to our house. Once there he ate cake and I ate the jar of frosting that was supposed to go on the cake.
