"What is this thing?" I asked him.

He walked around me and touched the small button on the side of the words that are flashing in yellow. The words being 'ACCEPT CALL'.
"It's a holographic communicator... or a holo." He replied to me while in deep thought.

The words turned green and suddenly an older man was in front of us. He was a bit stubby and heavily balding with white hair on the side. He wore glasses that drooped down on his fairly large nose. He must have sleep apnea with the size of his nose.

His gaze directed to the both of us and he smiled. "I see the memory wipe worked."

"What the hell did you do to us?" The man beside me asked angrily.

The old man laughed a bit and replied," I see that it didn't change your personality Liam."

The man beside me I mean Liam gasped slightly. He looked down obviously in deep thought.
" you know who we are?" I asked hopefully.

" yes I do. Fairly well too," he answered me.
" why are we here? Who are we?" I interrogated.
"Straight to the point as always Ava. I'm on this holo to explain everything I promise."

Ava... my name is Ava. Does it fit me? Do I look like an Ava?

"Alright we're listening. Now explain mystery man." Liam said. Cutting my train of thought off short.

The man sighed making his chubby belly stick out even more.
" your names are Ava and Liam Scott you two are married." I looked over at Liam in surprise...my husband. When my eyes reached him it was to see him looking at me in awe with a small smile... well thankfully he doesn't seem miserable about it." We had to wipe your memories to make your transition to this new life easier for you both, which also means this sadly will have to be brief. Each of you still have your knowledge. It may not seem like it right now but both of you have high education in different aspects. Ava you're a doctor, you still have all your medical knowledge and skills. Liam you're a mechanic, however when you were younger you learned everything there is to being a farmer so you should remember those skills as well."

"Wait how did I learn how to be a farmer if I was a mechanic?" Liam asked. I nodded in agreement that is a bit strange.

" I'm afraid I can't tell you. Just trust me when I say when it comes time for you two to plant your own farm you'll know how to do everything." Wait our own farm? Why would we need to know how to plant our own farm? My thoughts were cut off short when the man continued talking.

"Now finally to the reason you're both here. Humanity is dying off. I can't go into much detail because of the memory wipes but to put it shortly you're here for your own good. You two are some of the only humans left that can still reproduce. You and your future children must stay safe." His words chilled me. I looked to Liam and found his eyes already on me. His face mirrored what I felt worry and confusion.
