I am so bored! Liam wasn't letting me do anything! Granted I was showing now, and we were going to find out what gender the baby is tomorrow, but sill! I can walking down the stairs for goodness sake.
I started showing a little while ago and hadn't noticed it myself. Liam embarrassingly was the one to point out my newly swollen stomach. I had been getting changed into a new shirt when he mentioned it. Needless to say it made me feel a bit fat, but also extremely happy that I was one step closer to holding my baby in my own arms.
I'm currently sitting on a chair watching Liam move the last two ginormous flower pots out of our spare room.
"I can help you know," I told him. Liam never looked my way but just shook his head no.
"No. You're pregnant, you shouldn't be lifting stuff. Plus Dr. Griff would kill me and you know it!" He told me in between pants. These flower pots were proving difficult to move without breaking them. I originally cared about them staying in one piece, but the more he is trying to maneuver them out of the room safely the more I am changing my mind. Liam matters more than the stupid heavy pots.
"Fine... let's just break them! I hate seeing you having to do deal with this," I said.
Liam stood up straight from his crouched position by the flower pots.
"I have not come this far with this crap to just give up on it!" He said while swiping his hand across his forehead to get rid of the collecting sweat.
"Then can you at least wait til tomorrow. Dr. Griff is coming too and he can help you move these," I suggested. Liam looked at me doubtful. Oh why must my husband feel like he needs to fix everything by himself! One of these days he's going to be trying to fix the roof or something by himself and get horribly injured and then I'll be all alone trying to raise our child by myself!
"Please Lee. I don't want you getting hurt," I begged him.
"I won't get hurt Ava-tar!" He retorted. Great now I've offended him.
"Liam like you said I'm pregnant and shouldn't be lifting things. If you were to throw out your back or something doing this I would have to try to get you to the medical room in the barn! So for me... please wait til tomorrow," I ranted to him.
Liam's eyes softened. I win.
"Fine I'll wait til tomorrow... but only because it was stressing you out and stress isn't good for the baby!" He said trying to make him sound more masculine.
I just smiled though. A part of what he said was true. He probably could do it on his own and be completely fine. It's me who is scared.
I walked over and despite his sweat wrapped my arms around his neck. "Thank you," I whispered.
I pecked his lips quickly and went to the kitchen to get him a glass of water.
Liam followed behind me and graciously took the water.
"So what do you think it'll be?" Liam asked me breaking the silence. Not again. He's been trying to get me to say what I want the baby to be or what I think the baby will be for weeks now. I haven't given a girl or boy answer yet. The thing is though I couldn't care less.
If I have a baby girl then I'll have a beautiful princess. If I have a baby boy then I'll have a handsome knight. Either way I'll be happy and I already love them.
"You know that I don't care," I told him for what has got to be the hundredth time.
"I know I know. I can't wait to know though, and since you're carrying the baby a part of me just feels like you have a better clue as to what it's gender is," he said with a smile.
"Well we'll just have to wait til tomorrow," I said while putting my hand on my swollen stomach.
