CASSIDY SAT IN HER BEDROOM WAITING HOURS UPON HOURS FOR HER FRIENDS TO ARRIVE WHICH SEEMED TO BE DECADES WAITING FOR THEM. She couldn't wait to have some kind of normalcy back into her life. Her pretending things were "Okay" we're far from it.

Cassidy wiped her clammy hands on her jeans and made her way to where the rest of her family resides. "Cassidy finally you join us" her brother said with a glass in hand of the finest firewhiskey made.

"Well it is Christmas Eve, my friends are coming over soon, I thought it was time you all should meet them" She said as she sat down on the loveseat relaxing her tense shoulders.

"What are their names again?" he father asked

"Eleanor, Tristin and Alfie, we've been best friends since first year. Eleanor and I became friends because we shared dorms the same with Alfie and Tristin. Alfie was a bit annoying and in our first year he accidently turned Eleanor's hair blue in class both of them fought but we all became really close after that incident" Cassidy said as she laughed fondly at the memory.

Just then the doorbell rang, Cassidy lived in London just like Tristin did with his mother and grandmother. So he was expected to be the first to arrive while Alfie and Eleanor lived near the countryside.

Cassidy went to answer the door as Tristin stood in his winter coat and house scarf with a baked pan of a desert his mother had made for him to take over as a gift. "Hope I'm not too late" he said

"Thank Salazar you're here" Cassidy said, taking his arm to bring inside, "been that bad?" he asked as Cassidy took the plate from his hands as he shrugged off his coat and scarf

"Surprisingly bearable, but that's because I refuse to talk to anyone" she said as Tristin followed her.

Back in the Kitchen, Cassidy and Tristin hear the flow roar in excitement. They both followed the sound seeing Eleanor patting down her jacket as soot had managed to fly up "Oh crickets I got it inside my nose" she said as she rubbed the spot on her nose harshly as she stepped out the fireplace a basket if strawberry tarts in hand.

Tristin was the first to reach his hand inside the basket taking the tart into his mouth, "Oi these are not for you just yet" Eleanor scolded

The fire roared again, this time Alfie entering "You all started this party without me, such a shame"

"Nope just waiting for Elle to get the soot out of her nose" Cassidy said

"You always have to have agenda entrance don't you Ellie" Tristin said

Eleanor glared "Not in the slightest, just for that comment there will be no tarts for you"

Before Tristin could take back what he said, Cassidy had ushered them out of the kitchen and into the dining area where they would all have dinner tonight.

Cassidy's parents and brother stood up as they saw them.

"Um, mum, dad, Jacob these are my friends Alfie, Tristin and Eleanor" they each shook hands introducing themselves, thanking for the invite.

As they sat down for the English roast dinner that had been prepared and currently half way through it having small talk here and there.

Dominic was staring hardly at Alfie which Alfie noticed but ignored it, Cassidy of course saw it from a mile away.
