Alex:

The coach stopped directly in front of an old, sprawling mansion, somewhere on the outskirts of New York City. Ivy grew on its tall brick gates, but I could spot a weathered, rustic sign proclaiming “Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters”. So that was what I was called now, huh? A gifted kid.

The building didn’t look much like an institution to me. From my viewpoint, I could see a long-ish lane winding towards the front wooden doors. The bricks were of a dark yellow-brown, and I could tell that the building was old. It had that majestic air that usually accompanied aged edifices, and the trees that growed along the path leading to the school were huge, shady.

I couldn't believe I was saying this, but I loved it, my new school, already.

Wolverine approached me from behind.

“Well, welcome to your new home.”

He smiled and offered me his hand, and I took it, a-la the 16th century.

I smiled, weirdly excited.
