Chapter Six-
By the time we got to town, Jack had "gotten use" to me, and had lightened up to a much funnier guy then he was at first, not to say he wasn't funny before. "So, what's the best food place in San Diego?" He asked, with a grin. I thought about it for a second, before pulling over to one of the best pizza places. Luigi's Pizzeria was a pretty plain place, but it was one of my favorite places to go eat. Jack looked at me, raising an eyebrow, before he shrugged and got out of the car, running over to my side and opening my car door for me. I looked at him, laughing slightly as I got out of the car.
"Thanks." I said with a smile. Jack nodded, before walking into the pizzeria, leaving the door open for me. I shook my head with a smile, walking into the place, looking around at the familiar pizza place. It was a nice place, but not to fancy. Jack and I walked into the place, me nodding at the girl who worked at the place, Kenzie. I grinned walking up to her. "Hey, Kenzie." I said to her, smiling. She nodded at me, raising an eyebrow at Jack, who was looking around the place. She winked at me, smiling.
"Hey Bentley, and..?" She said, looking over at Jack, who turned his attention from looking around to Kenzie and me.
"Oh, Jack." He said, smiling at her. She nodded, giggling. I shook my head, this is the kind of girl Jack should be with, a nice simple perfect girl like- What the hell was I thinking? I mentally shook my head, turning my attention back to Jack and Kenzie.
"The usual Bentley?" Kenzie asked, making me chuckle and nod. She laughed, nodding her head and putting the order in. I pulled Jack over to a nearby table waving bye to Kenzie, who returned the gesture. Jack raised an eyebrow as we sat down.
"Well, come her often?" Jack asked, a joking tone in his voice. I nodded my head, shrugging as if it was no big deal, and it wasn't really. Everyone has there favorite place to eat, this was definitely mine. It was such an awesome place, with good people working here, and good food. Jack chuckled.
"What? We all have a favorite place to eat." I said, making Jack nod his head in agreement. "So, what would you like to do in beautiful San Diego Jack?" I asked him, adding a posh tone to my voice. Jack laughed.
"Um.. Hmm.. You live here, what would the broad recommend?" He asked, grinning. I thought about it. There was a lot to do in San Diego, but what would Jack want to do? Some of the things required it to be other seasons then Summer, so it was a little hard to pick something good to do.
"Well, walking around is always something I do." I recommend, shrugging. Honestly, that was my favorite thing to do here. I spend most of my time down at the shop, so I hardly come out here, but when I do, I mostly just walk around the city. It's just more fun then anything else.
-_-Little Later-_-
Soon enough, me and Jack had finished eating, and we were walking around San Diego, just talking and getting to know each other. I had so far learned that he played guitar in his band, and that he hadn't been there during the beginning during the band, but he had been in a band since he practically 13 years old. I told him that I lived with my dad, was an only child, and that I had dreams of becoming a mechanic since I was 14 and saw my dad working on a some old car.
"So, you've been into music since you were thirteen years old?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He nodded, shrugging his shoulders with a goofy grin on his face.
"Yup. And you've been into being a mechanic since you were fourteen years old?" He challenged, raising an eyebrow. I laughed slightly, nodding my head.
"Yeah, ever since I saw my dad turn an old heap of junk into a brand new amazing car." I said, shrugging my shoulders at him. He nodded, smiling.
"So, you and your dad are pretty close, huh?" He asked, giving me a curious look. I nodded slightly, sighing.
"Mhm. My dad's been the only family I've ever had. My mom and dad's parents didn't approve of them having a kid when they were 21 and 19, so, they disowned them. But, as my dad says, he and mom were in love, and as long as they had each other, they'd be okay." I said, not liking the where the conversation had gone. Jack nodded, quickly changing the subject.
"Why cars?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, still with a goofy grin on his face. I laughed slightly.
"I don't know. Why guitar?" I challenged, earning a laugh from him. I grinned. I felt like getting him to laugh was an achievement for me, even though I had no idea why. He seemed like the guy who took everything as a joke, which meant he laughed often.
"Because I could." He said, as if that was the most obvious answer in the world. I chuckled, nodding.
"There you go." I told him, with a joking smirk. He shook his head, laughing at my answer. I grinned again, before looking ahead of me, and running off. The beach was straight ahead of us. "Come on slow poke!"
I heard him laugh from behind me, as well as his footsteps pick up. I grinned, stopping to take off my socks and converse, and running to the edge of where the sand met the water. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath, and letting the wind blow and screw up my hair. I took off my beanie too, placing it under my shoes so it wouldn't get blown away.
I wondered where Jack was for a spilt second, before letting myself get caught up in looking at the beautiful beach. One of my favorite places in the world. Especially in the summer time. I shirked as someone picked me up from behind throwing me into the water.
I quickly swam up from the water, seeing Jack smirking and laughing at me from the sand. I shook my head at him, laughing slightly along with him. "You jerk." I said, shaking my head, as I pushed my hair away from my face. He only grinned, standing there proudly. "Come on in the water Jack." I told him, with a challenging grin. He shook his head still smirking as he backed away.
"Nope." He said, still shaking his head with a grin. I rolled my eyes at him, shaking my own head.
"Wimp." I told him, grinning, before diving back into the water, ignoring Jack's protest of not being a wimp. I knew he wasn't. Hell, I was sure he wasn't. But still, I wanted him to get into the water. I came up about a couple of minutes later, from lack of air.
I turned around to the sand, expecting to see Jack standing there, but instead I was meant with nothing but a heap of cloths. I raised my eyebrows looking around for him, but it was like he had disappeared. I shook my head, sighing. He's probably hiding in the water somewhere, I thought shaking my head.
I took a couple deep breathes, looking around for the seemingly always planning something Jack, only to come up with nothing. I shook my head, maybe he..
I didn't have much more time to think, before I was picked up from under, making me scream in surprise. I was expecting them to throw me in the water, but instead they held me, laughing. "Fuck, Bentley, that was a girly scream, especially for you!" I heard Jack say, laughing away.
I turned to look at the man who caught me, only to find that it was the missing guy in question, Jack. "You fucking jerk.." I muttered, shaking my head at him. I was only met with more laughing from him.
I huffed, still in his arms. "Are you gonna let me go?" I asked, looking up at him. He had his trademark grin on his face, as he shook his head. I let out a small short lived laugh. "Really?" I asked with a chuckle. He nodded his head, smiling still.
"Really." He said. And for a short few moments, the both of us were silent, our eyes staring into one another. I wanted to say something, but I had no idea what to say. So, I just stared. I watched as his eyes looked down from my eyes to my lips, staying there. Now I really wanted to say something, but I found my own eyes drifting from his eyes to his lips. For a brief second, I wondered what would happen if he did lean in. But that was short lived, because Jack began to lean in.
I was frozen in shock. Should I stop him? Or should I just let him kiss me? I didn't get to answer my silent question, because the next thing I knew, his lips were on mine.
