"At ten you have to meet with your lawyer; Eleven will be with the whole finance department to check the post-Christmas-New Year developments. At two, ihahatid niyo si Sir Terrence sa airport para sa New York flight niya. That's all—Oh and another thing, Mr. Del Fierro's assistant just set a meeting 30 seconds ago stating that her boss would like a luncheon meeting with you—-that I need your approval"
Napatigil ako saglit sa pagpipirma dahil sa huling sinabi ng aking sekretarya who happens to be my friend, Yna. "Del Fierro ba kamo?" tanong ko rito. There's got to be one Del Fierro I know and it's the old man who talked to me in Cali days ago.
"Yes. I don't know anyone by that name on the list of clients we handle pero yun ang sabi ng babae. Nicolas Del Fierro to be exact." Napangiti ako bigla.
I remember the man. Magaan siyang kausap and I do really enjoy his french accent. I guess a luncheon won't hurt anybody.
"Call her and tell her I'd love to have lunch with Papi. Ipa-inform ka nalang kung saan" tugon ko kay Yna na bahagyang napataas ang kilay habang sinusulat niya iyon sa notebook.
"O-kay. Do I have to tell Trevor that his wife seems giddy to meet a 'client'? Baka naman mauwi sa diborsiyo ang kasal niyo pagkatapos ng ilang buwan dahil dito"
I gasped and I threw her an empty folder na inilagan niya't ikinatawa.
"Ghad, Yna. What are you thinking! The man's way past my age. Pedophile!"
Napailing-iling ito't taas taas ang dalawang kamay na may hawak na ballpen at kwaderno.
"What? I'm just saying. Baka magkatotoo. Based sa mga nakita kong litrato niyo ni Trevor —privately and in the internet— you two seem so cozy. Too into the honeymoon stage, ang lalandi!" sabi nito na umakto pang nasusuka sa mga nakita niya. Haha! I do have to say the pictures were unbelievable.
I rolled my eyes. "Come on. Mama Leanna loved it. Gusto nga atang ipaframe lahat eh"
"I think 'yan ata ang mapag-uusapan ng pamilya mamaya. Anyway, May iba ka pa bang kailangan dahil may sasagutin pa akong emails mo. Perks of being a secretary. Hay nako, mag-aasawa na talaga ako ng CEO" sabi niya sabay hair flip.
"O siya bumalik ka na sa pwesto mo. Thanks for the recall, Yna. Air kisses"
