Gaieos, a semi-modern world inhabited by humans, consists of people called "Variants" who are known to equip a unique power called the "gift" which is categorized as a form of genetic mutation due to an existing additional gene in their body composition. They number about a fourth of the whole population and currently live in a state of diverse coexistence with the "Ordinaries" who hold no power and have varying views toward them.
Acknowledgment.
That is the one thing that the Variants so desired.
The one thing that they want to receive from society.
Of their kind. Of their difference. As part of humanity.
But with the way things are, the chances are slim.
The current stigma is already unto the thought that peaceful coexistence is nothing more than an idea deemed far-fetched by many Ordinaries and an idea hoped but dropped already by many Variants.
Yes, this is a story of those who live in a perfectly imperfect world enveloped in a simple yet complicated conflict that couldn't have been solved by a simple action. Alas, it turned out to be a prolonged battle of wants and needs hanging in the balance.
Is it just a mere nature of greed and pride? Is it desperation for survival?
Or maybe it is something completely uncalled and unknown?
We don't really know. But we'll know soon enough.
