“Help me up.” She said reaching her hand out for me. I looked down at the gorgeous woman sitting on the couch in front of me. Her ocean blue eyes sucking me in. I leaned in and took her soft hand in mine to pull her up but instead she pulled me in and I fell on top of her.

“You know, you have a lot of strength for an old lady.” I smirked. Our faces just inches from each other. My eyes wondered down to her thin red lips and watched them grow closer to mine. My face became hot but I didn’t back away, instead I leaned in and captured them with mine.

Our lips moved in sync as though they have done this a million times.

“Lily, baby wake up. You’re going to be late for school.” My mom woke me up with a cup of coffee in hand. It was our thing. Whenever one of us woke up first we’d wake the other one up with a cup of coffee.

“I’m up...” I groaned and sat up in bed taking the cup of deliciousness from my mothers hands. “Thanks mom.” I said and with that she gave me a kiss on the forehead and then left my room.

I got up ASAP and got ready knowing that I wanted to stop at The Diner for a milkshake before school.

The Diner was a little bit more crowded than usual.

“Stop it! You’re not getting another ice cream! You’ve already had enough!” I heard some woman scolding a kid in the booth near the counter.

I looked up towards them and my eyes fell on what I swear to be the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen. She had gorgeous ocean blue eyes, perfect skin, bewitching cheekbones and thin-ish red lips but attractive none the less. Her raven black hair fell around her face and down her shoulders in spiral curls. She wore a fancy looking black dress. She looked perfect.

“Mommy, that lady is staring at us.” The kid stood on the chair and pointed towards me. I saw her start to turn her attention towards me so I looked away quickly and moved towards the counter to order my usual.

“She’s probably staring because she heard me yelling like some crazy lady because my two year old has no manners.” She said rudely with a thick scottish accent. Her voice was mesmerising.

“You want your usual?” Zach asked at the counter. “uh .. yeah... actually. Wait... give me a mocha latte instead please. It’s kinda cold today.” I said trying really hard not to look back at the woman again.

“Don’t worry, they already left.” Zach said handing me my drink. I just blushed and looked for my wallet inside my school bag. “It’s on the house. You better hurry up though. You might be late for school.”

I checked the time and he was right I had like ten minutes before first period started. “Shit! Thanks Zach, I owe you one.” I said and hurried off towards school.

On my way back I stopped at the comic book store to put some pamphlets up for my baby sitting job. I needed the money. Me and my mom were barely getting by as it is and I’d love to go to college but it’s too expensive so I gotta start saving my money. But I gotta start earning money first.

“Hey, Mister C.” I said walking in to one of my favourite places ever. Mister C’s comic shop.

“Hey, kiddo. Here to check out the new comics?” I walked towards the front desk giving him my best puppy eyes. “I have a small favour to ask...”

“I’m all ears.”

“Okay, so as you might have noticed I’m sixteen and in need of a job, so I printed out pamphlets. Is it okay if I put them up in here?” He took one and read through it quickly.

“Lily Morgenstern, babysitting?” He looked at me then back at the pamphlet then back at me. “You sure you want to do this?” He asked a little bit puzzled.

“How hard can it be?” I shrugged.

“Okay. I may know of someone who would love a babysitter for one night. If you’re up for it?” I nodded eagerly. Honestly how hard could it be?

“We’ll be back by eleven. You sure you’ve got this?” James asked me looking anxious.

“Yes, Mr. Davenport. I’ve got this. I promise.” I said closing the door behind him as he left for his date. I didn’t see the kid’s mother anywhere. I’m assuming James would meet her there.

I walked into the quiet mansion. James said that Harvey would be asleep and that I should just check on him. I wondered through the long hall towards the room marked Harvey.

The door was ajar so I just peeped my head in a little seeing a small room illuminated by a green LED night light. The little boy was fast asleep on the tiny bed so I made my way down stars.

Small footsteps followed me out and I stood still not wanting to scare the little boy. I slowly turned around and came face to face with the boy from The Diner. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t shocked by the weird twist of fate.

“Hello... wh-who are you?” The little boy asked me in a curious tone.

“Hello there, Harvey. I’m Lily. Your mommy and daddy asked me to look after you for the night while they spend some time together. You don’t mind, do you?” I asked in a baby voice.

“Uh... I... Okay.” He looked a little puzzled but then excited almost immediately.

My stomach let out a loud growl and my cheeks flushed a bright shade of red. The little boy just walked towards me looking serious. He took my hand in his tiny ones and led me towards the kitchen. “You hungry little man?” I asked puzzled.

“Lily hungry.” He said and pointed towards the fridge. “Lily eat.” He smiled and sat down on a small chair near the dining table. I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to eat their food but both my stomach and Harvey convinced me to do so anyway.

I didn’t want to make too much of a mess so I just made a sandwich, which tasted heavenly by the way, and went to the living room with Harvey leading.

“What do you want to do, little dude?” I asked not curiously. He pointed to the TV and we ended up watching some cartoon till around ten when he fell asleep in my arms again. I carried him upstairs and sat by his side for the rest of the night.

Once I heard the front door open I tried to quietly escape the room without Harvey waking up again. I did so successfully until I turned around and bumped into a woman.

“I’m so so sorry.” I started apologizing but the woman just smiled and waved it off.

“I’m Michelle.” She said quietly and extended a hand. “I’m Harvey’s mother.” She laughed and I couldn’t keep my eyes off her perfect smile. It was a huge one but not weird huge just over friendly kind of huge, you know?

“And you must be Lily.” She said releasing me from my trance.

“Ahh... Yes. I apologize for staring. You just look so much like little Harvey.” I said smiling innocently.
