*Lily’s POV*

I woke up on the bathroom floor to an horrendous smell. It smells like something died. I sat up and looked myself over. My stomach was different hues of blues, purples and yellows.

Trying to stand up I noticed the blood stains on my clothes as well as the toilet and the floor near where I passed out.

That’s when it came back. I puked after encounter with my mother and it was just blood. It came out of everywhere. I hoped that I was dying… I guess I wasn’t.

I moved slowly towards the bathtub to try and clean myself up. While the water was running, I went to my closet and looked for something comfortable to wear. I settled with an oversized t-shirt and some ski-pants.

After cleaning myself up as well as the bathroom I went down stairs to see if ny mother calmed down yet.

I know you may think that I’m crazy but she’s still the same person who makes me coffee in the mornings and ask me about my day.

I found her passed out on the couch. She looked so beautiful. Her long blonde hair was tied into a messy bun with some lose strands falling around her face. I took a throw over blanket that was on the opposite couch and covered her.

She moved a little, opened her eyes slightly then she took my hand in hers. “I love you, Lily and I’m sorry for…” then there was silence followed by soft snores. She fell asleep again.

*Michelle’s POV*

“James… I’m sorry…” was all I managed to say.

He looked at me and then at the room behind me where Derek was sitting with Harvey.

“I’m sorry too. I know I did it to you first. It wasn’t right and I really hurt you. We were so close to divorcing… and then you told me that you were pregnant with our son and things started getting better and now this.” He wasn’t shouting. He wasn’t reacting the way I expected. Not the way I did back then. Instead, he’s being calm and understanding.

“Was it because I wasn’t there?” He took both my hands in his once more and looked me in my eyes with soft, saddened green ones.

“You’re constantly at work and I got lonely. She was there and you weren’t.” My voice cracked at the mention of Lily.

“I never wanted to hurt you, James. I care about you so deeply.” He wrapped his arms around my shaking body and held me. Not saying anything. He was just comforting me.

“Let’s make a rule.” He said pulling away from me. “We will not go more than three weeks without each other. We will call each other at least every second day.”

“That’s two rules.” I said slightly confused.

“Okay and here’s a third. We have to let each other know where we’re going when we’re both at home. Does that sound fair?”

“Yes. It does.”

“Now let’s get our son and go home.” He threw his arm around my shoulders as we walked back to Harvey’s room.
