NO ONE'S POV
"I'll discuss the novel once I'm done with the lesson tomorrow. I'm not feeling well today so you guys can do whatever you want." The class cheered. "But don't be too loud."
The students scattered around to chat with their friends while the trio, Taeil, Jungwoo, and Lucas were sitting on their seats since they're near each other.
Taeil was on his phone, probably texting his crush or whatnot because he was smiling like an idiot, not to mention the slight blush spreading across his cheeks.
Meanwhile, Lucas was just sitting there staring at the whiteboard with a frown. Jungwoo was drawing roses on the back of his notebook. The former got bored so he thought of an idea to steal his seatmate's attention.
He snatched the latter's pencil to gain hsi attention, which was a success. The mute tried to get a grip on his pencil but Lucas hid it on his bag. "Talk to me." He said with a pout.
Jungwoo stared at him with a poker face. Then he grabbed another pen from his bag and wrote his response.
'It doesn't look good on you when you pout.' The red haired looked at Lucas as he read the note. Lucas faced Jungwoo and stuck out his tongue out.
Jungwoo silently gasped, glared at him and putting his earphones in before going back on his work. His seatmate just looked at him, pouting even more.
On the other hand, Taeil was still busy texting but then he abruptly stood up from his seat, which surprised Lucas that he jumped on his seat but Jungwoo, not a single reaction.
"Woo. Woo." Taeil poked his best friend continuously but he ignored it. "Jungwoo!" Then poked the said boy's head harshly the he almost, ALMOST shoved his face on the desk.
The mute ripped his earphones off his ears then turned to glared at his best friend, who was smiling instead of apologizing. "I got a date with Johnny!"
The oldest showed his phone to Jungwoo. The latter saw the text messages and smiled widely. 'When's your date?' He asked.
"Saturday at Summer Cafe. You want to come?" Taeil smirked, making Jungwoo's eyes widen. The shorter laughed at his best friend's reaction.
Lucas was listening to their conversation. He was kind of happy when Taeil got asked out by his crush. When will I get to ask someone like that. He thought.
He spaced out until class was over. They gathered their things and walked out of the room but Jungwoo suddenly stopped at the doorway.
"Oh hey mute. Did you forgot we're still here?" A boy with blond hair with round glasses said. He stood 6 feet tall but Lucas was taller.
Jungwoo tried to run but his feet were glued. He don't know how to stand up for himself but Taeil was there beside him so he stood up for him.
"What do you want Jae? Go bother someone else because we're not retards like you five." Taeil retorted and took Jungwoo to head off to his next class. Lucas followed them.
Lucas looked back. He saw the other four trying to held their leader back to not cause a ruckus while classes were ongoing.
Who are they anyway?
-
"Trust me Yukhei. You don't want to deal with them. They easily get angry with a simple remark." Doyoung said then took a bite on his sandwhich.
Taeil introduced their other friends to the transferee when he messaged the group that they ran into Day6, trying to bully their mute friend.
The group of 15 boys were gathered to the bleachers at the field, their other hang out place.
"They're the bullies of SM High. They mostly bully easy targets and weak students but their favorite is Jungwoo because they took the advantage of him not fighting." Chenle explained to Lucas in chinese. He knew Lucas can't understand full Korean sentences.
"How long have they been bullying Jungwoo?" Lucas asked the guys. The said boy was still looking down on his lap, trying to shake the bad thoughts creeping on his head.
"When he came in his first year after they found out he's mute." Jaehyun answered his question. "These four helped him from getting bullied, especially Taeil hyung."
Jaehyun pointed at the boys behind him, which was Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, and Yuta. The four smiled at Lucas.
Time goes by as they had their lunch. Laughing and bickering around, mostly because of Donghyuck and Jaemin fighting over a drink.
"I told you Donghyuck it's mine!" Jaemin was fighting and protecting the drink like his life depends on it. "I bought it!"
Donghyuck stuck his tongue out to tease him. "I don't believe you and you don't have proof so..." He snatched the cup out of the younger's hand then ran down the stairs to protect the beverage.
The former stared at him in disbelief and put an angry face before chasing the rainbow haired male down the field. The two kept running in circles that they looked like complete idiots.
The group were laughing their heads off, except for Jungwoo who just smiled but it looked like he was laughing.
Lucas looked at the him with adoration. Even though it was his first day and they just met yesterday, he felt really happy when the red haired on his side.
Jungwoo was completely unawared that the transferee was staring at him as he was busy looking at the two boys chasing around.
No one noticed the scene, but one boy didn't let this pass.
