LUCAS'S POV
Today was sunday, the day where I asked Jungwoo to go out with me.
Since it was a date and aside from being excited, I was panicking because I'm still not finished fixing myself. I invited Kun over but he wasn't helping.
"Yah! Don't just sit there!" I exclaimed. He was sitting on a chair that was from my study table, touching my stuff and reading my notes. "Kun ge!"
He groaned. "You could've just called Ten or Sicheng or some of the guys. Why me anyway?" He stood up and rummaged through my closet.
I sighed. "They'll just sit there or even sleep if I called either of the two." I protested. "I'm not 'that' close to the others."
We argued about nonsense things for minutes until I was behind the time we had agreed. "Shit!" I cursed out loud. "I have to go. Don't invite them here!"
I didn't wait for Kun's reply and exited the apartment building without stumbling on anything, except when I almost fell over because of the slippery stairs.
Mental note: Don't argue with Kun or you're gonna be late.
I messaged Jungwoo and reminded him to meet me inside the Summer Cafe. I arrived and saw him waiting outside the glass door.
He looked up from the ground and instantly ran towards my direction. After embracing me tighly and snuggling on my chest, we walked inside the cafe.
I stood behind the counter while he picked a table for us to sit, which was the most corner of the room.
I said our orders to the cashier and payed before approaching to where the seat he had chosen.
We were quiet at first, constantly smiling at each other and observed the cafe. Wooden bookshelves glued to the every side of the wall and succulents were sitting on the top of it.
Our drinks and cookies were brought by a barista, then I glanced at him and realized that he was a schoolmate of ours. "Here you go." He looked at us. "Oh, it's the newbie and the mute."
It was Younghyun.
Jungwoo went on panic mode but Younghyun waved both of his hands, telling him don't. "I'm not here to say anything offensive. Work is more important than mocking you two." He left.
That was the first time someone from a bully group didn't attacked Jungwoo. Shock was painted at his face then he shook it off and nibbled at a cookie.
"Don't mind him Woo. You're with me." I said and showed him a soft smile.
He smiled back and we continued on eating. Jungwoo exited the cafe first after we finished because Younghyun called me from the counter. "Hey. Goodluck on your date." He patted me on my shoulder. "Take care of him for me."
I don't know what was that for but I gave him a small smile and walked out of the door.
After that, we went to an amusement park. Roaming around while I hold his hand, seeing many stuffed toys hanging on the play stalls and rides, Jungwoo stopped on his tracks when we passed by a certain booth.
He was staring at a half human sized Snoopy plushie, and his eyes were twinkling.
I never seen him like that so I assumed he wanted it. I walked up to the stall but he pulled me back while shaking his head.
I raised my eyebrows. "I'm going to win it for you." I kissed his cheek and he let go then stood beside me.
After darting the bull's eye on each of the five dartboards, I picked the plushie. "You two look cute together." The man managing the booth said and handed me the stuffed toy. I gave it to Jungwoo and thanked the man.
That was the 4th time we got that compliment.
Moving on, we stayed until we ate dinner on a food stall and decided to go back home.
He was hugging the plushie throughout our date. Since we got there by foot, I told him I can carry it for him but he refuses.
"Are you sure you can manage? That plushie is kinda...big for your size..." I didn't even insulted his height but he smacked me with it. He gave me a deadpanned look so I kept quiet.
It was a long walk but I didn't felt tired one bit.
-
"Why the hell are you three here?" I asked, removing my shoes. They were sitting on the floor, watching 'Your Name' with two bowls of popcorn in front of them.
Sicheng shushed me. I sat at the couch and waited for the movie to end.
I noticed they just started the film and I can't disturb them. One time I did that, I didn't went out of my bedroom up until midnight.
I sneaked out of the living room to the kitchen, brought out my phone and dialed Taeil's number.
He picked it up after two rings.
'Hey Yukhei. What's up?' He asked me right away. 'Did something happened? I still haven't talked to Jungwoo.'
"He's fine, I walked him home. Look, I didn't knew Younghyun was working at Summer Cafe and he talked to me before I went out." I said.
He was silent for a second. 'What did he say?' I can tell he was nervous.
What is going on?
"He said goodluck and take care of him. What does that even mean?" I was completely clueless. I want to know the reason but at the same time I don't.
All I can hear was his breathing then he spoke up. 'He- It's just- I can't say it. I'm sorry.' Taeil ended the call.
Now, I can't get it out of my head and tried to think of what he was about to tell me.
Should I ask Jungwoo or talk to Younghyun before christmas break?
