coffees and
blue violetsGwyneth sighed for the third time that hour as she attempted to finish the draft of the 34th episode of the comic she's editing. Empty instant coffee cans are scattered around her desk with torn dirty notes from the day before surrounding it. Crumpled papers encircle the trash bin like it was unintentionally thrown outside of the bin.
23:47, the digital clock read. The brown haired girl leaned on her office chair staring daggers at the drawing pad, as if she's commanding the comic to finish editing on its own. Gwyneth closed her eyes in exhaustion, she's been in the office longer than she expected and she was tired from all the sitting, crouching, and drawing she's done for the day.
She looked around the bright yet almost empty office filled with the people in charge of different sections of the comic she's editing. Everyone looked tired as they frantically followed the deadline that the writer applied.
"Hey Gwyneth, are you almost finished with the draft?" The person in charge with the dialogue and shading asked.
"Yeah. I only have two or three more frames left." She replied, followed by a tired yawn.
Gwyneth quickly turn back to her task, with the thought of homemade food and the smell of sweet flowers back at her apartment. A small smile graced her lips as an image of someone appeared in her mind and this motivated Gwyneth to finish quickly.

Gwyneth arrived tiredly in her apartment around 1 midnight, throwing her office coat carelessly on the ground beside her slip on sneakers. She would be so mad, Gwyneth thought but she couldn't care less right now as exhaustion overcame her mind.
She walked to the sofa, her heavy steps filled with fatigue, accidentally waking up the other person living in the room. Her eyes shut accordingly when she felt the soft mattress of the sofa beneath her body, resting for a bit before going to the room where her girlfriend should be sleeping.
Feeling another presence in the room, her eyes opened to a set of another filled with concern and at the same time, relief.
"Hi baby. I'm sorry about the jacket and the shoes. I'm just so tired." Gwyneth yawned as the other woman pulled her up with her.
"It's okay. Let's get to bed." The two women walked together to their shared room, closing the door behind them. Gwyneth stripped off her office clothes and immediately lied down on the bed while the other softly stroked her brown hair.
"Sleep tight baby. I love you." Gwyneth hummed in reply, too tired to say the same loving words back and fell into a deep slumber as comforting fingers brushed through her hair.
