blue violetsAdelyn woke up when someone tapped on her left shoulder. She blinks her eyes repeatedly, looking around to see if anyone saw her sleeping during the first class of the day. When she confirmed that no one saw her, except Kai who woke her up, a small yawn escaped her lips while stretching her arms in front of her.
"How long was I out?" Adelyn asked her friend.
"Just around 10 minutes. I saw Professor Sam look my way so I woke you up. Want some water?" Kai offered her a new bottle of the said beverage. Adelyn shrugged, grabbing it from her hands and drinking the water.
It tastes so bland, Adelyn thought when the drink went past her throat. I miss Gwy's coffee every morning, her mood turned sour when she remembered a few hours ago — she woke up from her 2 hour sleep to see no breakfast on the table. She wasn't even expecting anything grand. Just a cup of freshly brewed coffee. With some toasts on the side, of course.
The mood in the classroom was depressing, to say the least. It was 7 in the morning, everybody was either half asleep or hungover on a Wednesday morning. Even the professor looked tired. Adelyn sighed, putting her head on her hands because of boredom. She looked around once more, seeing her classmates in the same mood as her, then proceeded to take a nap again. Just until her first class is finished.

Back at the apartment, Gwyneth slept peacefully through her 5th blaring alarm. It was half past 1 in the afternoon and her 1st class started 30 minutes ago. She groaned, rolling on her bed to turn it off, again. When her alarm did turn off, someone started to call her number.
She sat up from her bed, rubbing her sleepy eyes while reaching for her phone on the bedside table.
"Where the hell are you? Literally, this class starts in the afternoon?" Blake whispered harshly over the phone, making Gwyneth woke up from her sleep induced state.
"Fuck! I just woke up!" She scrambled to get up from her bed, not bothering to clean the mess in her room.
After a quick change of clothes and brushing of teeth, she run past her apartment building to the arts building her where her 1 and a half hour class was.
The people passing by were giving her weird looks but didn't dare to question why and how the girl in the striped shirt and plaid pants was running towards her class with an iced coffee and a sandwich in her hands. Maybe because it is a must to bring an iced coffee, whether it'd be from a branded cafe or instant, when you're late.
Gwyneth reached the classroom after 15 minutes of running. To be discreet, she entered the back door of the classroom, crouching down behind the seats until she found Blake conveniently sitting at the back row with a pen in his mouth. She quickly sat down beside him while remaining unseen by the professor in front.
"Honestly, I'm not even surprised." Blake said after looking at the food in front of her. She gave a sheepish smile, offering another sandwich to him in which he declined.
"I had someone sign your attendance by the way." Gwyneth beamed at the words Blake said, hugging his arm that was beside her.
"Ah Blake, my holy savior."
Blake rolled his eyes, smiling at his exaggerating friend beside him. He was not in the slightest bit surprised that she was late. It was Gwyneth. She was always behind, but for some reason, she's always there unbelievably early whenever Adelyn was mentioned.
