Heavy footsteps ran across the hallway of the arts building along with the soft raindrops falling from the sky. A girl with brown hair heaves a sigh of relief as she reaches the classroom, 15 minutes after the call time. She shakes her wet head and fixes her posture before entering the study hall.
"Good morning class! It is I, Gwyneth the Great, blessing this dull room with my presence!" She lets out a goofy smile as she stares at everybody who's looking back at her with dread.
Ah fuck, she thought as she turns around to see her professor looking back at her, unamused. "It's the third time you're late this month miss Gwyneth the Great," the professor mockingly replied.
A sheepish smile appeared on Gwyneth's face while walking towards her friend who's covering his laughing face with a book. You're stupid, her friend with cool gray eyes mouthed at her as she takes a seat beside him. She replied annoyingly with the middle finger then a crumpled paper was thrown in their direction.
"Sorry sir!"
The class erupted in laughter while Gwyneth's face turned red in embarrassment. Irritation was evident on the professor's face when he saw the class got out of control with one student's stupidity. The students' soon quieted down and the professor continued with his lesson.
"So what happened this time that's got you so late?" Blake, her friend with cool gray eyes asked.
"The coffee maker in our apartment broke so I had to use the french press. Then I made breakfast for Ade because you know," she trailed off.
"But her class doesn't start this early today?"
"Don't you think I know that?" She whined. A low whistle was heard from her friend while she rested her hair on her table, exasperated at her own antics.

A mug of coffee rested on the table along with a plate full of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. A green sticky note lay beside the breakfast; had to rush bc class. c u l8r - gwee. A small chuckle left her lips at the thought of her roommate leaving her leftover breakfast for her. She sipped the now cold coffee as she sat down to eat her food.
Adelyn ate her food quietly, texting with her male friend who's in the same class with her in a few hours. Small laughs escape her lips as her friend tells her what happened to her roommate this morning to her own class. She shook her head, typing a reply on the messaging app before continuing to eat.
While Adelyn prepares for her afternoon class, her phone chimes a notification, indicating that someone messaged her.
what time does ur class finish ? it read. The person on the other side of the phone waits anxiously for her reply, hiding the device underneath the table as the second professor of her day was strict.
hmm around 1 ig. why? Adelyn replied, putting her phone down to apply concealer on her under eyes to cover her dark bags. She groaned, looking for a brush to blend the make up the same time her phone notified a message again.
wanna eat ? blake quinn and londons class end the same time as urs .
sure, why not?
Adelyn turned her phone off, grabbing her set of keys for the apartment before she leaves for her 1 hour class while Gwyneth lets out a giddy smile at her friend's reply. Her friend that she has a crush on.
"What's with the weird face?" Blake asked Gwyneth, noticing that her face has a smile painted on it since the start of their second class.
"Nothing. Anyway, want to have lunch? Quinn and London's class ends at one right?" Gwyneth replied instead.
"I feel like I can't say no anyway." Gwyneth lets out a 'what' face at her male friend, thinking that he's stupid for saying such statement.
"You can say no but I told Ade that we'd all have lunch together." The two friends sat down on an empty bench together, Blake texting their other friends in their group chat, notifying everyone where to meet. "Of course you did," he mumbled quietly.
