blue violetsWhenever Gwyneth was bored, she'd always turn to her sketch pads; the physical ones and the digital. She'd accept commissions from strangers off the internet or draw prompts from her mind, taking inspiration from her relationship fantasies with Adelyn.
Gwyneth doesn't let Adelyn know of it. Even plans on not telling her at all since she knows that Adelyn only thinks of her as her friend. Gwyneth's heart felt a pang of hurt at that thought, slightly over lining the turquoise color to the whites of the eyes. She groaned irritatingly, erasing her mistake which then erases the entire outer corner of the eyes.
Out of frustration, Gwyneth threw the sketch pad, the colored pencil, and the eraser on her bed. She ran her rand through her hair messily, even clutching in with her hands. Her eyebrows scrunched down angrily as she thought of things she shouldn't think about.
"Fuck it." Gwyneth mumbled, walking out of her own room to the kitchen where no one is.
It was already 7PM and Adelyn is still not back at their apartment. Gwyneth was starting to get worried since Adelyn's class ended at 6 and their apartment is only a 15 minute walk from the university. She picked up her phone, planning to call Adelyn but, a set of jingling keys were heard outside the door and it opened. Gwyneth's mood lightened when she saw Adelyn but an unfamiliar person entered the place with her.
"Hey Ade," she trailed off.
"Oh Gwy! Sorry for coming back so late. Kai and I had to submit a paperwork to our professor and we had to catch him across the parking lot." Adelyn and Kai looked at each other briefly before laughing. Gwyneth looked at the two, confused as to why she doesn't know who the guy is.
"By the way, she's my roommate, Gwyneth. Gwy, he's Kai. We're planning to finish another paired work here tonight. Are there any leftovers?"
"I don't think so, no." Gwyneth lied, even though there's one serving of dinner left, just for Adelyn.
"Well I guess we'll order pizza then. Want some, Gwy?" Adelyn asked, sitting down beside Kai on the sofa, who's playing with his phone feeling at home inside the apartment.
"No thanks. I had to finish some commissions anyway. You two enjoy." Gwyneth gave a small smile to the both of them, leaving them alone in the living room.
Adelyn frowned at Gwyneth's retreating figure. Usually, Gwyneth would ruffle her hair whenever she comes back to the apartment but not tonight. Adelyn won't admit it but she feels dejected that her friend didn't do that tonight. She shook her head focusing on the online pizza order that she was supposed to check out seconds ago.
Half an hour later, Adelyn stood up from the sofa to get some water for Kai and herself, leaving Kai to fill in the spaces he was supposed to fill. Adelyn opened the fridge and saw a container filled with food that wasn't there earlier that morning. She opened it and inside was homemade food that Gwyneth made.
She was confused; why did her friend have to lie and made her spend money on junk food. She somehow felt guilty that maybe Gwyneth only said no because there's only one serving left of dinner. Before she can think of any other possible answer, the doorbell rang, indicating that their, Kai's and hers, dinner is now in their apartment. She paid for the food and set it on the coffee table in front of the sofa.
Kai gave her a smile when she opened the pizza box, quickly grabbing a slice for himself. She shook her head with a smile when Kai apologized half-heartedly.
Adelyn looked briefly at Gwyneth's door, debating on whether or not she'd bring a slice for her roommate. A guilty sigh left her lips when her eyes glanced at the refrigerator, deciding on giving a slice of pizza to Gwyneth as an apology.

Gwyneth was drawing peacefully on her drawing tablet, putting some finishing touches on her newly accepted commissioned art when a knock on the door was heard. She stood up in confusion, opening the door to see the blue eyed girl holding a plate of a slice of pizza, a packet of hot sauce beside it and a bottle of water.
"I'm not hungry?" The brown eyed girl tilted her head, puzzled by her roommate's actions.
"I know you made dinner for me." Adelyn mumbled quietly, barging inside Gwyneth's room, placing the plate on her study table.
Shock was obvious on Gwyneth's face when she heard that. Then soon came embarrassment. She fumbled with what words to say, unsure of reasons to tell her.
"Well, you have a guest and it would be rude to only give one serving. Plus, I know you haven't had your dinner yet. Even if you're going to offer half of your food to him, you'd still end up hungry," and I don't want that, Gwyneth wanted to add but refused.
Adelyn let a small chuckle at her friend's reason.
"Aish," she said, "you don't have to worry about me." Adelyn said with a small smile.
I can't help but to be, Gwyneth thought, ruffling Adelyn's hair and replied with "I know" instead. Adelyn soon left the room and Gwyneth felt her heart tug at the blue eyed girl's figure.
