It was roughly around 1 midnight when rain started to heavily pour down. It woke up Gwyneth abruptly even when she just fell asleep after such a long night.

Gwyneth was... an odd mix of things. When she was 12, she found it weird that boys disgusted her. They were never attractive in her eyes. She thought that maybe young girls go through that phase where boys are just disgusting and maybe those boys will grow up, learning how not to be disgusting. But she was wrong. Sure some guys improved but, even the proper guys — the boys who asked her out throughout high school — she didn't really feel attracted to them.

But, what was odd to her is that, the girls that she'd see and meet at every get together or party she attended in high school, those girls were attractive to her and she found her heart fluttering for women. She was 15 when she found out that she's a lesbian.

Now, where does the odd mix fit in? Here: first of all, she's a lesbian, second, she likes bitter coffee, third, she's scared of rain. The type of scared where she could get nightmares or an insomnia whenever it's raining. The girl didn't have any bad experience with rain, she's just not comfortable with water pouring heavily down the sky. And the weird insects and animals that come out after.

Gwyneth stood outside of Adelyn's room in her brother's shirt and plaid pajamas, knocking a little too loud on her roommate's door. Since the two girls have been friends since God knows how long, each of them knows about each other's fears.

Adelyn opened the door to a frightened Gwyneth clutching a pillow of her own. Her own sapphire eyes widened, pulling her friend in to her dimly lit room. They immediately lay down on the bed and under the thick covers. She put Gwyneth's head on her chest, stroking her head in comforting motions.

Classical music was playing softly in the background. It helped Gwyneth to block out the sound of the rain and thunder. She felt a lot better, especially now that she's in the arms of the person she loves.

As she calms down the trembling girl in her arms, she can't help but admire the soft brown hair under her fingers and the short eyelashes, wet with a coat of tears that trailed down under her eyes. She raised her hand, gently wiping the wet patch on the under the other girl's eyes.

When the sky roared loudly, Gwyneth shook beside Adelyn. Her hold on the other tightened in urgency, obviously scared but Adelyn was quick to notice it. She pulled the covers towards them, completely covering the two girls while turning to the side to cage the taller girl in her arms.

It was comforting, to be in the arms of the person you cherish the most. Even though Gwyneth was scared, so so scared, she was underneath the warm covers, caged in the arms of the person she loves.
