The blonde wakes up from his bed as he opens his eyes to see the light blue sky then he sits up from his bed as he rubbed his eye revealing the bags under his eyes. The chocobo head gets up and puts on his clothes slowly then the door creaks open to reveal his mother peaking through the side door.
"Are you awake? Oh good you are, the trucks about to get here soon, hurry to breakfast"
The sleepy boy rubs his eyes again looking gloomy but he looked in the mirror examining his sleepless night in his face which made him sigh to himself as he bent down with his forehead touching the mirror struggling to keep his eyes open. He went to the restroom to wash up from the depressing look on his face then he headed out of his room and sat down to eat breakfast with his mother sitting down already analyzing that he didn't sleep.
"What happened last night? You came home without a word"
The blonde boy played with his food as the mother looked over across the table seeing her child with his hair covering his eyes in silence.
"I thought you'd be happy seeing as your leaving for SOLDIER today"she says as she sips her cup of coffee then Clouds fingers let go of the spoon.
CLANK
Claudia sees her child in a gloomy mood then he hides it with a smile looking up at his mother.
C: "Im so happy I can't even eat, Im gonna miss you" he says as he smiles warmly at his mother which made her look at him unbelieving his lack of skills to lie.
"Honey, you don't have to go"
C: "No I wanna go, I made up my mind years ago..besides..theres someone I want to impress" he smiles to himself looking down at his soup of beverages.
"Is that someone..Tifa?"she says lifting an eyebrow looking at him teasingly but Cloud only stared down at his bowl again smelling the scent playing with his nose. He was quiet again and avoided the question that the blonde looked up at his mother trying to avoid the question. The boy ate his soup and sipped it clean out of his bowl quickly knowing that his mother wasn't going to believe his lies, he jumped out of his chair as he washed his dish knowing that his mother was eyeing him from the table. He then sees the truck arrive through the kitchen window which made Claudia worried for his decision.
"Trucks arrived...hon come here for a second"
The blonde came up to his mother as she opened her arms hugging her thirteen year old boy.
"I'll miss you so much my little chocobo boy" she says hugging him then pinches his cheeks as he pulls away from her grasp.
C: "Mom stop it, I'll be fine besides I don't wanna be late alright?"
"Okay sorry, I'll deliver a present for you on your birthday okay? Now go get your bag"she lets him go as he runs off to his room to grab his small duffle bag.
"Oh honey, why is it smaller than before?"
C: "They said to travel light, meaning only underwear and stuff like that because we most likely be wearing uniforms"he says walking past her headed for the door
"I see..."she looks at him then moves her eyes on the floor concerned, "uh are you going to say bye to Tifa?"
The blonde holds the doorknob ready to head out but froze once she asked the question making him hesitant gazing at the ground.
"Hon are you okay?"she says coming close to him but Cloud opened the door and replied, "Im fine just a little excited thats all".
"I see, well come on then lets go"
C: "Right"
The blonde boy heads out with his mother following as he sees many boys aboard the truck while they wave goodbye to their parents. A man with a hat on and a clipboard was calling names by alphabetical order as each male teen aboard the truck as parents hugged their sons saying goodbye. Clouds hand tightened on his bag handle as he looked at the ground while his mother standing next to him resting arm around his shoulders.
"Cloud strife" the man called out which made his heart pound as he widen his eyes then looked up from the ground towards the truck walking aboard. He hears a faint voice as his ears ring, he widened his eyes then stopped for a second as he turned around quickly to see the crowd of parents.
C: "Tifa?"he thought to himself as he looked at the crowd of adults but didn't see her so he looked forward at the small stairway disappointed keeping his head slightly down as he climbed aboard seeing a bunch of boys his age sitting next to others as they chatted about being a hero goofing around in their seats.
"Haha, dude I'm gonna be in the top three"
"Naahh"
The blonde walks straight ahead as he hears conversations
"Hey you know that new girl, she's pretty cute huh? When I get back and Im in the top three Im gonna ask her out" a boy said proudly leaning on his arms over his head then the kid next to him elbowed him and replied, "Yea right you top three? haha good luck with that"
The blonde sat down on the seat at the back looking out the window with his face leaning on his hand then the doors closed as the man in the cap sat down on his seat.
"Hey, is that a girl?"
"Isn't that Tifa?"
"Looks like it"
"She probably wants to confess her feelings to me before I leave, I knew she couldn't resist" a boy said with pride making the other boys around him elbow him, "hah yea right!"
The blonde widened his eyes as he looks over to the other side of the truck where he was sitting at, the blonde gazed in front of his seat as he lowered his eyelids.
Clang clang
A hard pounding noise was heard throughout the truck as the boys looked over the window and the other got up from their seat to see the brunette child running next to the truck yelling.
"Stop! Stop! Wait Cloud!"
The blonde surprised gets up from his seat and walks to the other side of the truck shoving through the other boys to look out the window to see Tifa chasing it to his surprise.
"Tifa?"he says confusingly in shock realizing as
he immediately began struggling to open the window with the tip of his fingers.
"Dude what are you doing? The windows dont open that far"the boy next to him commented but the blonde kept trying to lift the window up to open then he hears a groan from outside.
"Ugh!"
He widens his eyes to see Tifa fall on the dirt as he calls out to her
"Tifa!"
The blonde quickly runs towards the back with his hands glued on the dirty window as he sees her farther and farther away then his ears started ringing as the brunette yells. The blondes fist pounded on the window as tears began to form then he closed his eyes.
C: "Ill come back...I promise..I'll keep you safe no matter what..Im sorry" he thinks to himself as he rests his forehead on the dirty old window with a tear falling down his cheek. He sees an image of Tifa smiling and hears her giggling as he continues to silently cry to himself while the other boys in the truck continues to goof around in the background.
