There it goes again.
Something definitely moved this time.
It was very brief, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw something. But wait. All the doors are locked, no pets, and my parents won't get home until 10. So there's no way something moved. It's my imagination getting the best of me.
Sitting alone in my room, the only light emitting from the monitor of my computer, I stared into the darkness many times just to be sure. Now I feel silly. What am I thinking? Of course there's nothing there.
15 minutes later, as I prepare to go to bed, Im in the bathroom. The shower curtains shift. Wait. No. Stop spooking dearest self. It's just an overactive imagination, filling my head with what isn't really there.
I gazed into the mirror at myself. I say it to myself, slowly and clearly,
Imagination.
With a sigh, I turn the lights off and head towards my room.
Laying in bed, I stare at my ceiling, dark and a little smoky, only the motion of a small ceiling fan disturbing the calmness of the night. A shadow from the light in all the shifts. No. No. No. Stop it. Its my imagination. Just that. Go to sleep you insane self.
But then, just when Im about to drift off to sleep, at the phase that no one remembers when they wake. I sense something in the darkness.
Its my imagination, leering down on me. With a jagged, macabre smile...
THE END :)
