My ex, dated one of Grey's exes. No fucking way. I stood there, staring at him, half expecting him to tell me he was joking. There was no way because that would mean she was probably after both of us. How fucking big was this city, and MY ex had to date his.
Doesn't help that they were both fucking crazy.
"Mari." Grey mumbled, scanning my face for some sort of reaction. I looked up, locking m yes with his.
"She came to kill me, didn't she." That was the only explanation as to why she brought a gun. She was pissed that I had killed her boyfriend so she came to kill me, or, my boyfriend. "Oh my god she came to kill you."
"We don't know for sure yet, we cant really do anything about her until she makes another move. I can up the security and make sure she's not allowed in the building but there really isn't any way for me to get her arrested again until her hearing.
She brought a gun in, and pointed it at his face, and there's no chance of us putting her back in jail until her court hearing.
"So what do we do then?" I asked incredulously.
"We wait, You do classes online." He was afraid of having the same thing happen twice. I knew it, I could feel it. I don't think it was me she was after this time however.
"And you're just going to keep going to work?" I asked, frowning at him. There was no way hw was going to keep coming here if she had a gun and a vendetta.
"I don't have a choice baby. I have security. You can come with me if you want. Do your classes online fo now, we can talk to your professors." I knew we could do them online, I had done it before. I just really didn't want to. "I have to protect my company and my employees."
I knew what he said make sense, but it wasn't siting well with me. This was because I killed Michael. I killed him, so his ex was going to come and kill one of us as a way to make us feel what she felt.
"Fine but I'm coming, everyday. Ill sit outside with Cecilia and do my own work but your not leaving me alone at the flat." he nodded, exhaling as he did.
"I cant loose you Mari. You know I can't."
"You wont, we felt with the Michael thing we can deal with this. Its going to be alright." I wasn't sure if I believed my own words, but I had to say them. I almost died when Michael showed up, but that was because I underestimated him. I wasn't going to do that this time. We were going to take the extra measures, we were going to be safe this time.
Grey gave me a look, deciding on whether or not he believed me. I don't think my facade was as good as I was hoping it was but he sighed never the less and nodded.
"Okay game plan from here on out, you're with me I'm with you got it?" He asked and i nodded.
"What about our friends?"
"I dont think she would be stupid enough as to go after them. However I have already offered them a place to stay if they want.Laken and Beverly have decided to go home as well as Jarak and Delta. Jarak is getting his own security guard and I'm sending on with Laken and Beverly. Dylan has yet to reply." I nodded, appreciating everything he does for me. I was so lucky to have him, no one else would have ever gone through this bullshit just to put up with me.
"What about the rest of the day?" I asked and he nodded, thinking about it for a moment.
"Go back to campus and talk to your professors, get everything settled and I am going to finish up here and i will meet you at the flat okay?" He ran his hands up and down my arms as he spoke. Soothing me. I nodded, closing my eyes as he stood up and kissed my forehead.
This was going to be fine, we did it once we can do it again.
