Chapter 23

Friday night came slowly. I was trudging along assignment after assignment and it was killing me. I was tired of getting out of bed in the morning just to go to a company to sit in  a room and do my homework all day. The only good thing was that I had literally nothing else to do but do my homework so it was always turned in on time and I was actually ahead of every one in the class.

However it was Friday night, and Grey and I were on our way back from dinner. We had decided that it had been two weeks since we had seen or heard from Rae so it was probably safe to go out for one night. "What do you want to do when we get home?" I asked, leaning my head against his shoulder as I asked. he shrugged, not really having an answer.

Seth was in the front seat driving, we were giving him the night off, he had plans with Cecilia. Once we dropped us off he was leaving.

"I'm knocked out, wanna turn on a movie and go to bed?" He asked as a smile spread on my face. We hadn't been out in a while so actually going out and socializing was draining. I nodded, pressing my lips together as I hummed in agreement.

"Sounds like a plan." We didn't have any definite plans for the weekend yet. It was still early.

We pulled into the parking garage of the flat and Grey and I got out after Seth parked. "Okay, I will see you guys on Monday?" Seth asked and we nodded. Grey put his arm around my shoulder as we headed to the elevator.

We got in and I hit the button for our floor as the doors closed and we began to move. I laid my head on Grey's shoulder as I leaned against him, exhausted. Mingling with other people was a lot, I didn't imagine we would be up much longer.

As we got off the elevator I let go of Grey and headed towards the bedroom. "I am going to put the leftovers away and I'll meet you okay?" Grey said as I nodded.

I slipped out of my dress that I was wearing and pulled one of his T-shirts on over my head. I didn't feel like wearing pants so I just crawled into bed and pulled the covers up over my face. Grey got changed and crawled into bed next to me as he turned the tv on and begin flicking through movie titles.

I didn't make it to the movie, once my head hit the pillow I was asleep.

I woke up to the sound of a cell phone blaring music at me. Squinting as I rolled over and looked up from my comfy position, I saw Grey's phone ringing. It was still dark outside so it couldn't be super early. Grey groaned, but reached over and grabbed the phone, flipping it open and answering it.

"Hello?" Grey's voice was groggy and he sounded half awake. I flipped over and pulled my phone out from under the pillow where I usually kept it. It was three fifteen am, nobody should be calling us at this hour. Something had to be wrong.

"What do you mean?" Grey said, sounding more awake as he sat up, pulling the covers off him and running his fingers over his face and through his hair. "Yeah I can come get you. Give me thirty minutes and I will be over." He said and hung up. I sat up, pulling the blanket up to me as I yawned.

"What is it baby?" I asked as grey got up and walked to the closet.

"Nate got arrested, I have to go bail him out." Arrested? Nate? I frowned, yawning again as I twisted and my feet his the floor.

"Okay, I am coming with." I said as I stood up and stretched. I was still exhausted, but I had a good amount of sleep in me and we could always go back to bed when we got home again.

"No, Mari." Grey said and sighed. I looked up at him and gave him a half smile. He looked tired, his hairs as messy and his eyes were still half closed. "Go back to bed I wont take long." I didn't want to go back to bed, it seemed to big without him there.
