I was sitting in the conference room of TI working on one of my rejects for the semester when Seth showed up with a bag from Taco Bell. "Lunch?" He asked as he shook it and I grinned.
"What did ya get?" I asked, pushing my things out of the way as he handed me a drink and a bag.
"I got Grey a variety of things because he doesn't ever know what he wants for food and I got you the usual." We had been eating fast food for the last couple of days since the office was slammed. They were busier than usual for some reason, Grey never really seemed to talk about his work with me, no matter how hard I tried.
"I reached into the bottom of the bag after pulling out three tacos and a side of potatoes with sour cream and cheese. There were a variety of sauces at the bottom of the bag, and I knew Grey was probably going to use them, they definitely weren't for me. I stood up and grabbed a few. "I am going to run to Grey's office, I will be right back." I said as Seth nodded at me.
I headed down the hallway and towards his office, as soon as I put my hand on the door I heard Cecilia speak up.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." I turned around to see her sitting at her desk with a magazine in her hand. She was on lunch as well but she was choosing to have it at the office today so she could get back to work. We had been catching up a lot since I was here everyday with Grey.
"Why not?"
"He is on the phone with L.A. Has been for three hours I was told not to let anyone in." She said and looked at the bag of Taco Bell sitting on the desk next to her. Wow, not even Seth was allowed in.
"hm, okay then I shall put these in here." I said and held up the sauce before dropping them in the bag. "What do you think the cal is about?" I asked, listening in to see if I could hear him talking. She just shrugged and smiled, she had a secret. "What is going on with you today?"
"Seth asked me out." Her face broke out into a massive grin as she spoke. Suddenly i felt super excited, i was hoping this was going to happen, the idea of them together was so cute.
"Oh my god!" I squealed, leaning over the desk.
"We have been talking for a while now and he just broke up with his girlfriend and he asked me out to dinner this Friday." She giggled as she put the magazine down and gossiped with me.
"That is so exciting. Oh my god. I am so happy for you two." Cecilia was adorable and i was so glad that she was going out with Seth, they were going to make an amazing couple.
"Thanks it is super new so I am not expecting much but I hope it goes well." She gushed, her cheeks turning a slight pink color as she did. I was about to say something else when the door opened behind me and Grey stuck his head out.
"Hey Cec-" He started but stopped when he saw me. "Oh, hey baby, what are you doing?"
"Brought you lunch, gossiping with your assistant. the usual." I grinned as I stood up straight. He adjusted his tie, looking nervous.
"What did ya bring?" He asked as I handed him the bag. "Sweet, wel I am going to get back to work I shall see you after?" He asked and i nodded, glancing over at Cecilia who was frowning at us.
"What was that?" She asked after he went back into his office. I shrugged, not sure either. I thought we were fine, something seemed wrong with him, like he was nervous.
"I'm not sure." My smiled was gone from my face and replaced with one of worry, was there something wrong? We were just talking about getting engaged not to long ago and now this?
"maybe he is just nervous about something. I wouldn't sweat it." Cecilia brushed it off as she spoke, picking back up her magazine.
"Yeah, maybe." My voice dropped with my stomach. Was he nervous about proposing? Was that was this was? he already knew I was going to say yes but was he overthinking this and backing out.
