Part 33 - Ygf and the Goldfish

"Oh no no no noooo!" Ygf wailed as one of the goldfish dropped onto the floor. After cleaning the fish tank she was scooping the fish back into the fresh water with a net from the bowl of water they were waiting in. However the slippery thing had jumped right out and onto the floor. She abandoned the net into the tank and crouched trying to see where it fell. 

"What's a goin on?" Jk asked cheerily as he entered the room after finishing cleaning the kitchen, but froze when he saw Ygf on her hands and knees peeking under a cabinet. "Wha - Ygf? You OK?" he managed to ask, trying to be a gentleman and not look at her tempting derriere.

"Jk help!!! I lost a fish!" Ygf gasped, scared. Jk looked at the open fish tank and realised what had happened. He quickly slid onto his tummy to look under the cabinet.

Suddenly a movement of shining orange could be seen under the cabinet. Ygf and Jk made a grab at the same time and ended up grabbing each others hands. Feeling a jolt of electricity Ygf gasped and moved her hand back quickly, whacking her elbow on the cabinet. Jk tried to see if she was OK at the same time that she reached forward to find the fish again and they bumped heads. Both wincing, they apologised and looked for the lost fish again. Suddenly spotting it, Jk grabbed it, and speedily stood to drop it back into the tank. The fish propelled to the bottom and Ygf sighed in relief. However a second or two later the poor fish floated to the top of the water, quite stationary. 

"It's sleeping it off right? It must be tired?" Ygf muttered anxiously.

"Um...." Jk began, glancing at her warily.

"Fish sleep horizontally right??" Ygf queried desperately, her voice slightly more shrill.

Jk rested a hand on her shoulder "Um I'm so sorry Ygf....we've lost it" he said somberly.

"Shit" Ygf uttered, shocked. "What the heck am I going to tell Tae?!" 

"Well..." Jk thought fast "We can replace it! Before he realises?" 

"Genius!" Ygf gasped "But where are we going to find one at this time of night?!"

"We can wait until morning. In the meantime," Jk grabbed a blanket and covered the tank "we say they need rest!" He grinned at Ygf so endearingly that she almost forgot about the problem at hand. 

"Oh dear what are we going to do with the body? Shall we flush it down the toilet?" Ygf pondered aloud.

Jk looked shocked "Noo we can't! Let's bury it in the garden, give it a proper goodbye."

Ygf stared at him. How cute could this guy get? She wondered to herself. She watched as Jk picked out the deceased fish from the tank and popped it into a wrap of a ripped cover of an old magazine he took from the cabinet.

"Uh oh you just destroyed Yn's favourite cover of Channing Tatum!" Ygf gasped.

Jk paused "Oh." He turned the magazine around on the shelf to hide the ripped cover and winked at Ygf. Ygf tried not to melt into the rug.

As they trudged into the garden, retrieved a spade from the garden shed, and started digging a small hole in the flower bed, Ygf spotted their neighbours curtain twitch closed. "Oh great, our neighbours probably think we're crazy or murderers!" Ygf muttered. Jk quickly put up his hood.
