Deborahs's POV
I stared at the black gate right in front of me, my sweaty fingers gripping the handle of my makeup box tightly. I was not going to panic. I promised myself that.
The house right in front of me was far from what I expected. The outside wall was painted a dark shade of brown and the ground was made of inter-locked bricks. There was also a big black gate protecting the house. It was simple and I absolutely loved it.
Swallowing hard at the mix of excitement and nervousness building inside me, I approached the gate, slowing down gradually when a black sleek car exited the gate and a rugged looking man closed it after them.
I walked closer to the man and he paused what he was doing when he noticed me, directing his curious gaze at me.
My heart started racing and I wished at this point I was anywhere but under the scrutinizing gaze of this scary, burly man. He also stood too tall for my liking, with cold eyes burning daggers into me for no reason.
'Hello there I'm Debby ah.. and I.. ' I stuttered, my nerves escalating all over again.
'What do you want?' The harshness of his voice caused me to jump slightly. Oh God!
'I.. I'm sorry to intrude sir, but I got a DM from Miss Laura Peters on Instagram, inviting me over to do her makeup. I t.. thought she was going to inform you of my arrival since she was in bit of a haste for me to come. Maybe you should uhh go in to tell her I'm around or something.. '
'Yes, of course she told me she was expecting you, but..' he paused, his eyebrows dipping into a frown as eyed me from my feet back to the top my head.' his eyes switched to a hungry gaze when he looked back at me. 'What is your name again?'
'I'm Debby. Uh, I'm pretty sure I told you that before.' I chuckled nervously, biting my lip. I could not explain the amount of fear and nervousness I felt mixed together. I mean, I shouldn't be afraid of him. He can be almost twice my height, big and strong with a monster voice but I committed no crime, so there's nothing he can do to me.
'Hmm.' He nodded and licked his full black lips making me cringe. His eyes kept roaming around my body which made me feel uncomfortable and I immediately regretted coming. It would be best if I just left.
'Come in.' He finally said and I breathed out a sigh of relief. Opening the gate widely, I walked inside. 'Walk down there.' he pointed at a long side walk leading to a door, 'and knock on the first brown door you see. She would open up it up for you and..' Walking closer to me like a predator to it's prey, he sneered. 'Make sure you don't wander around.'
I breathed in deeply, and nodded my head. Forcing a smile, I thanked him and walked towards the brown door. I looked around me and was impressed with what I saw. Live flowers decorated everywhere adding color to the surrounding. There was also a garage with three cars parked in it, a basketball court and a mini pool. It was more like what I was expecting unlike the exterior.
Reaching the huge brown door, I reluctantly knocked on it twice. Few seconds later, the door opened and I was met with a cheerful looking face.
'Hey. You are debbiesmakeover on IG yeah?'Swallowing hard, I nodded. 'Hi. Yes I am.'
'Cool. Please come in.' She replied with a bright and friendly smile.
I smiled politely and walked. Resisting the urge to look around the house, I stood right beside her staring at my feet awkwardly. She closed the door and walked after me. Was I supposed to follow or just wait?! Shit!
'Please have a seat at the dining room over there.' She pointed at the dining room at the left side side of the parlour. 'I left my phone in my room. Let me go get it.'
