Golden Hour

Hello friends :) I'm so glad to get back to writing and having so many people to support me.

7:24 a.m. glowed on the alarm clock sitting on Kazuichi's bedside table. His eyes grew tired of staring at the greenish blue numbers. He rolled over to see Gundham but found Roman, their corgi, sleeping peacefully with their head on their paws. Kazuichi rubbed the dogs head and sat up.

Roman stirred but went back to peacefully sleeping. A small ray of golden sunshine crossed Kazuichi's eyes as he stretched. He heard some music drifting into the room from the small sliver between the door and it's frame.

The floor felt cold as Kazuichi walked down the hallway into the living room while putting his reading glasses on. In the room was Gundham sitting as the piano and singing a song that Kazuichi recognized from somewhere. Their dogs and cats lay around the boys feet, shrouded in the golden rays of sunshine coming through the east windows.

"Someone wrote this song before and I can tell you where it's from. 4736251, to put your mind at ease..." Gundham sang softly.

His voice was beautiful and gently woke Kazuichi up as he rubbed his eyes. He walked up behind Gundham and wrapped his arms around the other boys shoulders. Gundham flinched but when he saw Kazuichi's tired fade, he smiled. He enveloped his lover in a hug as well and pulled him into his lap on the bench.

"Did I wake you with my music? I'm sorry if I did..."

"You're fine, sweetie. Your voice is a good sound to wake up to," Kazuichi murmured, snuggling into Gundhams chest.

Gundham smiled and ran his fingers through the mortals hair as he watched the rising sun. The golden hour truly was a good hour to wake up in.
