Yachi was curled up on the couch like a cat, under the blanket, her head drooping slightly. She had been walked home by Kiyoko and Hinata, and then they had told her to go and sit on the couch and relax for a little bit while they took care of tea for the three of them. Kiyoko put the towel she was using over the oven handle after giving a small lecture to Hinata on how when rice boils over the top you have to cool the heat down and it didn't mean that it was done. She glanced over at Yachi, and after Hinata gave her a slight nudge, she moved over to where her friend was sat.

"Hey," She tried, trying to keep her voice steady. Yachi looked up and smiled at her, one of those wonderful smiles that made you feel like you were the only person in the world. The soft light of the room highlighted her freckles, and that one random dimple she had on her left cheek, and her brown eyes glowed with a thousand tiny stars, even if she did look tired. "Are you alright?" Yachi laughed, a tinkle, and Kiyoko sighed.

"Why did you sigh?" Yachi asked her, looking at her friend. "Are you feeling alright?" Without asking, Yachi put her hand to Kiyoko's head, and Kiyoko did all that she could to stop her face boiling over like Hinata's rice. "You're freezing. Here," Yachi lifted the corner of the blanket up, "Get under it." Yachi looked at her expectantly, and Kiyoko looked down at her knees, and her black tracksuit. "You have to be cold, right? Come on." She encouraged, and Kiyoko, a little reluctantly at first, did.

Yachi felt warm next to her, and she smelt like violets and cinnamon. She was so tiny, next to Kiyoko, but she felt so cuddly, and the way she snuggled into Kiyoko made her heart race in several different ways. She felt it in her head, in her throat, in her stomach, she wasn't a fan of the sea but she heard roaring in her ears, or something like it at least. Yachi nuzzled herself more into Kiyoko's body, and she Kiyoko, without thinking, patted her on the head. "We need to talk." Kiyoko said eventually, and Yachi nodded. "Why are you studying so hard?"

"Because I didn't get a good enough score on my last test." Yachi said, and Kiyoko frowned. "I only got 77% and the cut off was 70%." Kiyoko bit her lip, and sighed.

"But that's 7% higher than the cut off. You did pretty well." Kiyoko said. "That's something I had to learn." Yachi chocked back a small sob, and Kiyoko put a hand on her cheek. "It's ok to cry." She said, and Yachi did, so they stayed like that for while. Kiyoko took out her handkerchief and wiped at her face, wiping all the tears away, and holding onto her.

"Sorry." Is all Yachi said, before sinking further into her seat, and away from Kiyoko. Kiyoko knew it was best to just let her go. "Kiyoko you're shaking. Why?" A whole list of reasons ran through Kiyoko's head.

'Because I don't like seeing you in pain. Because you don't deserve this. Because I don't know what to do. Because I-' She cut herself off at the last thought, shaking it away. 'Hitoka Yachi is your friend.' She told herself.

"Hey!" Hinata called through. "Dinners ready."

A short while after eating dinner, Yachi's Mother arrived home, and Kiyoko took her outside to explain her daughters situation. Her Mother nodded, understanding, and went back inside to her daughter. Instead of going home, she started towards Michimiya's, texting her first to make sure she was in.

Yeah, what's up?

Text, MICHIMIYA, outgoing:
I need a chat.

Text, MICHIMIYA, incoming:
Ok, Daichi and Suga are over right now.

Michimiya had a small house, it wasn't bad by any means, just cosy. Kiyoko still had the key, but the door was unlocked anyway, and there, in the living room, she found Michimiya sat on the armchair, and Suga and Daichi snuggling on the sofa. Her parents weren't home, so she usually had friends over to fill up the space. "Hey Ki." She said, and Kiyoko greeted her with a sharp nod, nd took the seat next to Daichi on the couch. "So, what's up?" She asked. Kiyoko gripped her bag and looked at her friends, who were all smiling around her.

"I don't know if. I don't know what Yacha- Yachi is to me." She said after some time. "I don't know weather I have a crush on her or what." There was silence, and Michimiya paused the show they had been watching, clearly for some time, because they were on episode 3. 'How late did her parents work?' Kiyoko wondered.

"Alright." Michimiya said. "Dai, move." So Daichi stood up and took Michimiya's spot on the chair and Michimiya took Daichi's spot on the couch. "Ok, think. Remember when we dated?" Daichi looked up in surprise, but didn't comment on this new development he had just found out, and Kiyoko nodded, "If Yachi makes you feel like we felt, then maybe not because we didn't work out."

"She doesn't." Kiyoko shook her head. "I mean, you were great, but Yachi makes me feel safe and warm and so good inside, I get excited when I see her text me or call me or do anything. Just seeing her is-" Kiyoko clammed her hands over her mouth, and hunched herself up into a small ball of affection and confusion. "Oh, goodness. I like Yachi." She mumbled to herself, so only Michimiya could hear her, who nodded encouragingly. She looked at her ex, and her friend. "Please don't be mad."

"Kiyo, why the hell would I be mad?" Michimiya asked, and Kiyoko shrugged. Daichi and Suga looked confused, but smiled at thier friend anyway. "Would you like to stay and watch the show?" Kiyoko smiled, ever so slightly.

"I'd love to." She replied, so Michimiya went back to her armchair and Daichi to the couch, cuddling with Suga. The show they had been watch was called 'So Not Worth It', they couldn't understand many of the words but it was very good. "How late do your parent's work, Michimiya?"

At this, she just laughed.

Kiyo, I think we need to talk. I don't think I' ready for a relationship yet, my mind is all over the place and I have too much going on. Can we still be friends?

Text, MICHIMIYA YUI, outgoing:
I thought the same thing. Of course we can still be friends, you always take priority. I'll see you at school.
