Kiyo looked down at her long black graduation gown and smiled. Everyone on the volleyball team had been given and orange cord, like thier uniforms, and Kiyo currently had it around her neck. She wished she'd realized how heavy it was before deciding to walk around with it. The graduation party had been strictly third-years and family only, so there was no Yachi, but there was Suga and Daichi and Asahi and Michi. Michi was currently running towards Kiyo, smilling. She looked happy again, and after what she had been through, who could blame her? Finally smilling, after everything, finally not worried about someone waiting around the corner to attack her. Finally, she had made something of herself, she was going to collage for English Literature with a recomendation onto the volleyball team by Coah Ukai himself. She came up to Kiyo, and held her arms out. No knowing what to do, Kiyo took her hands. "Dork, I'm asking you to hug me!" Michi said, looking at her. Kiyo gasped, becuase after what happened, she knew Michi didn't like to be touched. She pulled Michi in, and they both hugged. "Thank you for all you've done for me." Michi said.
"But I haven't done anything." Kiyo said, and Michi shook her head and took a step backwards. She took off her hat and looked at Kiyo. It toook Kiyo a second, and thn she placed it. Michi was wearing the clip that Kiyo had given to her.
It was a long, hard session of therapy, and Michi had just come out of the building, rubbing her eyes. "Michi?" Kiyo asked, but Michi jumped a mile in the air.
"Ah!" She exclaimed, jumping back and throwing her arms up. She peeked through to see Kiyo stood there with a little box covered in lemon wrapping paper, tied with a green ribbion. "Oh, Kiyo, it's you, I thought you were- Nevermind." She said, shaking her head.
"No- Don't be, its my fault for sneaking up on you like that when I know you had stuff relating to that. How was it?"
"Hard. Being made to relive the worst day of your life until its emmotionless and you have no reaction to people or corners or your own gate anymore is...Hard. I've started coming in the front door." She said, and Kiyo smilled. "Who's the box for? Yachi?"
"Oh! No! Its for you!" Kiyo said, holding out the box. "I know how much you love lemons, well, I asked Daichi, but I wanted to get you something, I know how hard it can be, being made to relive things- I've been through therapy. So I wanted to get you this." Kiyo held out the box, and Michi took it. She shook it lightly and then carefully undid the ribbion, and unwrapped the package. Inside was a small silver hair clip with a lemon charm on the end. She took it out and slid it in her hair.
"Does it look good?" She asked Kiyo.
"Yeah. It does. Now come on, we'll be late for the boys!"
Michi only wore that hairclip for very speciall occasions and people, so be damned if she wore it on a regular day. "Thank you for everything. You've done so much." Kiyo looked Michi up and down, her hair had regained its fluff but still had the clip pinning back the frindg. Her gown and hat was the same as Kiyo's, but instead of an Orange cord, she had a white one for the Girls team, and a shorter blue one for being a top student in her class. She put her hat back on her head and smiled. "So yeah, thank you." She turned and walked off, and Kiyo turned to go the back of the gym to hide out of the way of everything.
She felt pretty hidden, behind her classmates, it was nice when people weren't constantly looking at you and talking about you. She slid down the wall and sat on the floor, and was soon joined by Suga. "You know, I had talk like this to Yachi one time."
"You did?"
"Yeah, I did, when she was just figuring out her feelings for you. She really loves you, you know."
"I know, I just- I'm going to miss her. And you. The district is-"
"Only a train ride away." Suga shushed her. "We're going to be fine, and we'll all come and see you, weather you like it or not." He said, lightly punching her. "I think that moving on is scary. I'm scared. We've all got to do it. Weather we like or not isn't the issue, its just what happens."
"I don't have to like it though, do I?" She asked.
"No, no you don't. Come here." Suga streched his arm out and Kiyo gave him a hug.
