Yui Michimiya had gotten a message at 11:00pm last night from Daichi. 'Park. Tomorrow. 11:00am. We know who the fake accounts are.' She couldn't stop thinking about the message, even though it was 7:00am, and she had plenty of time to get ready until the park. She rolled over in bed and reached for her phone, and all she could do was look at the screen saver. It was a picture of the character Isabel, appearing to be chasing some birds on her horse. Isabel reminded Yui of Yachi in a way, both free spirits without a care in the world, who liked animals and were super sweet, but when they had a mission, they'd get it done fast. Slowly, Yui swung her legs around off her bed and put her head in her hands. She'd slept for a little while, but not long enough in her eyes. Her Mother and Father had already left for work, so she sat there for a while. Afte a while, she decided to take a bath, because what else could she do? She raised herself from her bed, and forced herself into her bathroom. She turned on the tap, and put a random playlist youtube had generated for her. The first familiar line and cord of the simple guitar made her smile to herself. "And yeah I heard you...So I sang along..." She mumbled along with the lyrics and their happy tune, the song was named Whispering my Love by Carole and Tuesday, and she checked the next song, Mother. This made her smile, a song about togetherness was just what she needed right now. The first note of the piano sounded, and she remembered exactly what made her fall in love with this kind of music.
The girls team had just lost another practice match, and after insisting she was fine, she had made her way back home and into her room. Her phone lit up with a text from Daichi, but she ignored it and lay straight back on her bed. She opened YouTube, and just clicked the first suggestion it had given to her, getting changed out of her uniform, she hadn't been paying much attention to the lyrics, but she knew it was a sad piano song, with two girls with silky sweet voices and almost perfect harmonies, and a strong guitar in the back. Still, she paid no mind to it as the music pumped through her wireless headphones. She hadn't been trying to pay attention when the lyric "Its Ok, you are so strong..." came through. She decided to actually see who made this song, and was introduced to a world where music was made by AI, a world set on Mars, with two aspiring musicians Carole and Tuesday, and the way they had managed to connect so many different people. Her favourite song was always Lost My Way, the song that had introduced her to this wonderful, wild world.
She came back into reality just in time to hear Tuesday's iconic high note, and poured some bubbles into her bath, their sweet lemony sent enveloping her and everything around her. She stomped and clapped with the music, shutting her eyes and imagining she was alongside the Voices of Mars, performing with them at the memorial hall. She opened her eyes once more, and turned off the tap. Steam began to fill the room, so she opened a window up high, not like anyone could see anyway, her bathroom was on the top floor. Her hand lightly brushed against the fluffy bubbles as most of the steam escaped through the window, however the thick lemony sent remaining. She took off her PJ's, and sunk into the bath, letting her head fall back into the water and smiling to herself, it was a good thing her hair was so short, it would take forever to dry if it was long, given how thick it was. A major part in cutting it off had been volleyball, because it kept getting in her face, but it also took way to long to dry, and Yui did not have that kind of patience or time. She liked the smell of lemons because it reminded her, oddly, of disinfectant, which reminded her of her gym at school, reminding her of Volleyball club. The first time she had seen volleyball, she hadn't known any songs by Carole and Tuesday, so what she had been listening to was some soundtrack on her half-broke earplugs , which is when she had reached the gym, and seen a ball go flying, and her childhood best friend, Daichi, come running out after it.
The schools Library had just closed, which men Yui had been asked to leave, so she grabbed a random Manga and left. She didn't know where her feet were taking her, because Daichi had said he was going to go to the volleyball club, even though he knew it was a flunk club. They'd be well into drills by now, so she changed her direction. She didn't know why. She plugged in her broken earphones, and played a song with a strong beat, from a show she enjoyed. "I'll be honest I was plenty surprised..." She mumbled. Her earphones were half-broke but they worked. She'd put in an order for some wireless headphones anyway, so they'd be here soon. She double checked nobody was there, not that she cared about their opinions, and shut her eyes tight and danced the rest of the way down the rest of the path to the hall, unfortunately, she wasn't looking where she was going, and tripped over a volleyball someone had left there. This was when she still had thick hair, so she couldn't see where she was falling, but she heard her book go flying and her earphones snap. "Shoot-" She mumbled, forcing herself back up onto her knees. What a state she probably looked, dark, tangled hair hanging in a mop over her face, one earphone in, the other who knows where, and a book she had borrowed a meter-or-so away. She made herself get up, and dusted off her uniform, and saw three first years helping her. One she regonised, Daichi, stood in the doorway, faking concern, and two others, one with grey hair, and the other with long brown hair tied back into a bun. The one with grey hair picked up her book, and the one with brown hair handed her the earplug back and smiled down at her, he awkwardly put his hand behind his back. "Sorry- looks like your going to have to get some new earphones...wanna borrow mine?" Daichi cocked his hip, and Yui stuck her tounge out.
"Oh, don't worry, I got some on the way!" She said. The tall one smiled and laughed.
"Oh- good...that's good. Uh...You also have something..." He pointed to his temple, just behind his ear. Yui reached up, but missed it slightly. "Oh, no...here..." He reached behind her ear and pulled out a little stone, threw it, and then patted her on the head. "Sorry, your hair is so fluffy. If you won't take me headphones, at least let me tie it back for you."
"O-Ok..." She had said, still not knowing this dudes name. He was good at hair though, and put it in a low ponytail. His teammate sighed, nudged him and handed Yui her book back.
"Michi, you good?" Daichi called. "You took a pretty hard hit."
"Michi?" The tall one questioned.
"All right, stop flirting with her, Asahi. Hi, I'm Suga." The last boy introduced himself. "You should consider cutting you hair. It helps things get tangled less. You suit short hair." He said, because it looked like she did have short hair when it was tied back.
"Michimiya...but just call me Michi."
"Um...Right...You hurt?" Asahi said, awkwardly, and Yui shook her head. "Good...That's good..." A voice called out from inside, and Yui looked up at the tall boy before her as the others ran inside again. "And- Uh-You do- Really- Suit short hair-Bye!"
Yui rose from her bath and wrapped herself in her towel, softness embracing her, almost like a hug from Asahi. She dried herself off and headed back into her bedroom, and again checked the time. 8:30. She still had a bunch of time, and debated going for a quick run, but decided against it. Her thoughts wandered to how the others were doing.
