Everyone came even Clover, but Eric was nowhere to be found. "Clover," I said over the music. "What's up." She said. "Do you know where Eric is?" I asked. "I hate to be the barrier of bad news, but he's probably home doing homework. He said your party wasn't his scene." She said.
"Are you sure that that's what he said?" I asked.
"Positive." She said and continued to dance. I smiled and walked inside. Would he really stay home and not come? Was Clover lying to me? No, she wouldn't there would be no real need to lie. Would there?
Eric POV:
I sat on my bed staring at the wall. Maybe Clover was right. This party wasn't my scene and Katherine would never be interested in a guy like me the one who hangs around just one person, Clover. I felt my heart sink deep into my chest. I was about to curl into a little ball when my mom called me. "Yes," I replied.
"Phone." She said.
"Who is it?" I asked. Mostly everyone was at Katherine's house. "Some girl named Katherine." My mom said. I nearly jumped for joy picking up the phone. "I got it, mom," I said letting her know that she could hang up. "Hello." I heard Katherine say through the phone. "Hey," I said trying to sound cool. "How's homework?" She asked
"Actually I'm at a friends party," I said.
"On your house phone." She said.
"It's portable," I said.
"With your mom." She said.
"My moms quite the party goer," I said.
"It's kind of boring here." She said.
"Here too," I said.
"Good then look out your window." She said. I could hear the smile on her face. I looked out my window and saw Katherine standing outside her car with Ariel, Logan, Blaze, Peyton, and Hope. "What are you doing here?" I asked. I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face. "The party wasn't as fun without you." She said.
"Hold on," I said. I rushed to get dressed and walked downstairs and walked outside to where they were. "Took you long enough," Hope said. Katherine approached me with her phone in her hand. "Be my plus 1 at my party." She said.
"Katherine Lane, are you asking me on a date?" I asked. I so desperately wanted her to say yes and not no like I said to Clover yesterday. "I believe I am." She said. She was so confident and honest. "Then I accept to be your plus 1," I said.
"You better had." Blaze said. I slowly slipped my hand into Katherine's hoping she wouldn't notice, but she did and instead of pulling away she locked her fingers with mine
