A year later:
"You gotta be stronger use more force." My trainer Marian said. My mom had convinced my dad into hiring someone else to be my fairy trainer before he got seriously hurt. "I'm trying," I said while blocking her hits. She says that to strengthen my fairy I must first strengthen myself. "Go get 'em, Kat." Ariel cheered while on Logan's back. "You can do it," Hope said. "You're distracting me," I said trying to focus on Marian. "Focus." Marian barked at me. "She paid them to be a distraction." Blaze said. I turned to her. "What," I said. Marian kicked my side and I fell to the ground. "You all owe me 10 bucks for distracting her." Blaze said.
"I said to focus. In a real fight, you won't be able to stop like that." Marian said. She held her hand out to me to help me up. I got up and brushed off my jeans. "Katherine dear, you look dirty. Go get ready for school." My mom said. "Yes, ma'am." I teased. I ran upstairs to my room and got ready for school. I grabbed my jeans and started putting them on when there was a knock on my door. "Who is it?" I asked. "Me," Ariel said.
"It's open," I said putting on my shirt. Ariel opened the door and shut it as I looked for my red sweater. "How are you?" She asked.
"Okay, I guess. You know I hate losing to Marian." I said.
"That's not what I meant." She said.
"What did you mean then Ariel?" I asked. "Eric." She said.
"What about him," I said.
"Your hurt. We all see it." She said.
"I'm fine." I denied.
"It's okay if it hurts." She said.
"I'm fine. Seems Clover was a better fit for hi and I understand that. I was asking too much of him." I said.
"Kat." She said.
"Can you just drop it. Me and him are over and I get that now please just let me be. I'm fine it was a year ago." I said.
"Kat." She pleaded again.
"Ariel for my sake drop it," I said.
"Fine." She said reluctantly
