Katherine POV:
It was now lunch and I was sitting with Blaze, Peyton, Ariel, Hope, and Logan at their lunch table. "Who was that guy is English?" I asked.
"Eric." Hope teased.
"Who was that girl with him?" I asked.
"His best friend Clover," Ariel said adding on to Hope's teasing. "You know I can zap you guys right," I said.
"You wouldn't," Ariel said.
"Water doesn't work well with my power," I said. Ariel stood up and hid behind Logan. "My power won't work," Logan said. When he looked at Ariel it happened. They realized they were mates, but they quickly looked away. "I should go," Logan said getting up to leave. Peyton got up and followed Logan outside the cafeteria. "Me too," Ariel said and rushed in the opposite direction. "What's up with them?" I asked. "They're mates, but his dad forbids him from mating," Hope said.
"Why?" I asked.
"His dad lost his mate because she ran away from him ad said it was for his own protection," Hope said.
"I think it's sort of selfish for him to take that away from his son." Blaze said. "Should we talk to her?" I asked.
"Last time I tried she flooded me. I hate water." Blaze said.
"So your opposites, but friends," I said. "I never admitted to being friend with her." Blaze said.
"We all stuck together. We tried to get Victor, but he's rebellious." Hope said.
"Speaking of the devil." Blaze said as Victor entered the cafeteria and approached the table that Eric an Clover was at. As an overprotective mate, I pushed my shield to protect Eric.
Eric POV:
Victor started approaching my table. Clover began to blush like a fool. I felt a tingle through my body as if someone was touching me, but there was nothing. I looked at Katherine and she smiled at me. Victor stopped in front of Clover. "Can I sit here?" He asked. "Yes," Clover said.
"No," I said objecting. I turned back to Katherine and then saw Blaze standing up. As blaze came so did Hope and I saw the reluctance in Katherine's eyes before following. "Victor." Blaze said as she came to a stop behind Victor. "My darling sister.' Victor said. I watched Katherine very closely as she grabbed hold of Hope's shoulder and nodded. "Come with me." Blaze said. "Why?" Victor asked.
"Don't push me." Blaze said.
"Fine." He said getting up and following Blaze out of the cafeteria. Katherine released Hope's shoulder and Hope smiled as if saying thank you. The tingle I once felt then disappeared. "Are you Katherine?" I asked before Katherine could walk away. "That's me." She said.
"I'm Eric." I said.
"It's really nice to meet you." She said.
"I just wanted to say hi since your the new girl and all." I said. She smiled and nodded. "Thanks." She said and walked away with Hope. "Great thinking Eric." I said.
"You're too good for her." Clove said taking me my hand. I pulled away from her grasp and have her a weak smile. "Eric." I heard Katherine call me. I loved how my name rolled off her tongue the way it did. "Yes," I said my voice sounding as of it hadn't belonged to me. "I'm having a barbecue this weekend. Come." She said. I felt a huge burst of hope fly through me. "I'll be there," I said a little too quick. She laughed and then turned back to Hope.
